Can I vote in both Texas Democrat and Republican primaries?

I am not a Republican or Democrat but I am an American that can legally vote. I want to know can I vote in both the Democrat and Republican primaries or do I have to choose one and that's it?

You can only vote in one. The election workers will check you name off the list & will register which party's primary you voted in (but not who you voted for within that primary).

If you do manage to vote in both, you're vote will likely be thrown out & you may very well face charges of voter fraud.

I usually vote Republican and intend to vote Ron Paul but I would not doubt that many will vote in the Dem primary since the GOP has already crowned McCain. For those saying GOP voters will pick Obama because he's more "beatable", that isn't accurate: every head-to-head poll I've seen shows him beating McCain. If you want the Donks in the White House you better lean on the Super Delegates to vote Obama. The polls I've seen give him 4-6% advantage. If nominee is Clinton, she either wins by 1-2% (statistical dead heat) or loses by same margin. Meaning, she MIGHT win but if your goal is the White House more than a specific candidate then you're better off putting your $$$ behind Obama.

You have to choose one, but that choice can change between different election cycles. For example, you could vote Republican in 2000 and vote Democrat in 2008.

According to my sister in law who lives in Dallas, you must declare your affiliation for Primary purposes, and can then only vote in that primary.

Whether a Republican can participate in a Democratic caucus in Texas is beyond my knowledge, or hers.

    Vote Hillary! (against Obama)

and Vote John McCain! (against Hillary)

No.You can only vote either Republicn or Democrat in the primary. In the general election you can vote either way. Even if you vote Democrat in the primary you can vote Republican in the the general election if you wish.

No not even one you have to belong to a party to vote in their primary.

Note: Voters may vote in a party's primary only if they are registered members of that party. Independents cannot participate.

You should be able to, but you can't.
