What's your most ridiculous misheard lyric?
Surely it can't just be me who twists singer's words into ridiculous phrases?

"Scuse me while I kiss this guy" Actual verse: "Excuse me while I kiss the sky" = Purple Haze by Jimi Hendrix.
"I'm not talking about my linen, and I don't want to change your life" Actual verse: "I'm not talking about moving in, and I don't want to change your life. = I Really Love To See You Tonight by England Dan and John Ford Coley.
It isn't so much that "you" twist the lyrics into ridiculous phrases, it happens pretty much on it's own. You might go years with thinking a misheard lyric however silly was actually part of a song that you knew.
Heck in fact you might even prefer what you thought you heard compared to the actual lyric when you finally learn whatever it is.
In fact there's a whole book dedicated to the subject. It's a small book, I own it myself, had it for years, it's lying around somewhere but here's a link for you to amazon.com if you're interested in buying it. I think you'll enjoy it.

I knew someone who thought Elton John was singing "…On the rock-o-matic line…" instead of, "…On the rocks of my decline." I would have to say that Elton John is pretty hard to understand sometimes, but not nearly as bad as others. For a white American like myself, the most difficult to understand is often true Reggae. Bob Marley is quite easy to understand and has excellent diction, but many other artists from Jamaica have a whole different subset of slang, lingo and pronunciation that make it hard to really "get" on the first listen. Great stuff, though.
Then again, I never understand anything in Death Metal: it is all growls to me. (Although, ignorance is not always a bad thing considering what they often do say!)

Bad Moon Risin' by CCR
"Don't come 'round tonight
Well it's bound to change your life
There's a bathroom on the right"
That last line is actually, "There's a bad moon on the rise"

There used to be a song in the 70's and the man sang
"Funky Nassau". I thought it was F'ing ***-ho...
Then in the 80's the song "Push it, push it real good...."
I heard some guys singing puss-E instead of push it...
It was funny.
The Cranberries "Zombie" sounded like "Tommy" to me, so I went around singing "Tommy, Tommy...."
