4 AnswersAir Travel4 months agoHow can I connect an Accent Acoustics speaker to my stereo that has old style speaker ports?
I have a floor speaker with a wire that starts with a 9-pin cpu plug into the speaker, and at the other end of the wire are 9 tiny wires instead of the usual 2-wire speaker cables. The 9 wires are: white, black, red, blue, yellow, green, brown, grey, and 2 copper wires with threads twisted. One copper wire is twisted up with the green and yellow wires, and the other is around the grey wire. How can I plug it in to either my stereo or my computer. I don t need the volume controls (blue wire?) that came with the other speaker it was attached to. The other 2 speakers were attached to the big speaker with the same kind of color coded wires inside a black cord. A rat(?) chewed the wires and separated the set of 3 speakers.
3 AnswersMusic & Music Players3 years agoWhich of these foods is the culprit that caused 2 days of diarrhea?
In the past few days something didn't digest and caused the runs. Here's a list of what all I ate for a few days, so which of these foods from the previous 3 days is most likely what caused the diarrhea?
Shredded wheat cereal with milk
Eggplant parmigiana with spaghetti (2 days in a row)
salad with oil and vinegar
garlic rolls
Guava/cheese pastries
Fish sandwiches from Checkers (2 days in a row)
yogurt with blueberries
apples and bananas
oatmeal
a baked sweet potato
eggs and grits
Or, could it go back 4 days? On Thursday I had fish tacos and they had a salsa bar. Monday was the bad day.
2 AnswersOther - General Health Care4 years agoWhy does my Beta fish not eat food after it sinks?
When I feed Fishy, some of the little pieces sink and land on top of racks and decorations in his tank. He never eats them. Before I do a test and see how long it would take him to get hungry enough to scout around and find the easy to find sunken food, I wanted to ask on here and see what answers you have. Thank you.
6 AnswersFish7 years agoCan you recommend some moderately advanced Spanish literature to start with?
I'm quite fluent speaking and understanding Spanish, and can read everything I need at work, newspapers, websites, etc, but I have never actually read a book in Spanish. So I don't want to start with Cervantes, you know. I'd like to read something light and funny, touching, or a little scary or tense is ok. I prefer contemporary over ancient. I'm asking about fiction or true stories or novels for adult readers. So if you know a few to recommend to get started, let me know. It shouldn't be too simple, but I also don't want to have to get the dictionary out in every sentence. Thank you!
2 AnswersLanguages7 years agoTwo-headed question about British announcers on U.S. American radio, esp. NPR...?
Not including BBC broadcasts, have you noticed a lot of British-English speakers are hired by American radio stations? Do you think it gives the stations an air of distinction?
Do British radio stations often hire American-English speakers to talk on their radio waves or is it limited to bits of comedy or what? Would the Britons and their neighbors enjoy hearing different American accents? If so, would it give their stations an air of....(fill in blank)....?
2 AnswersMedia & Journalism7 years agoWhy are old tv shows bad quality on my LED TV?
I have a new Samsung LED TV it's great on new shows, but on old shows it shows light trails when people move. Is something wrong with the TV? Is there a setting I need to change for shows that are not HDTV compatible? or not digital?
4 AnswersTVs8 years agoI have a small hole in a leather jacket. Can I use black caulk to repair it?
I was just reading about leather repair, and one answer recommended leather repair kits that have a sort or "rubber-cement" that stays flexible. Then I remember they sell black caulk. The hole is just the size of a lentil, and it's on the front of a shoulder, you can see the white lining under it, so I do need to fix it. I'm thinking I'll put a dot of black silicone caulk, scrape it flat, then press it with a piece of scrap leather. I actually think this will work (and it doesn't have to be so perfect for me. I don't wear it that often anyway.) What do you think?
1 AnswerDo It Yourself (DIY)8 years agoHow can I PRINT SCREEN to Paint program to save it?
Once a student showed me how, with a couple of key strokes, how you can use the PRINT SCREEN key and send it to Paint to edit or save a copy. I forgot how to do it. do you know? oh, I just use the basic PAINT program in Windows Accessories, which is all she used as well.
Thank you!
4 AnswersProgramming & Design8 years agoDoes my transmission need repair?
When I back out my car in the morning, then put it in drive, it takes about 7-10 seconds before it engages and responds to the gas to go forward. It goes in reverse right away, and it's usually only in the morning that this happens. After it's warmed up it goes right into drive with no delay. It's a 2004 VW Jetta with 110,000 miles. Does it sound like a minor or more serious problem? Don't have real winter here, so it hasn't been very cold.

4 AnswersMilitary8 years agoIs it possible to regain access to what was recorded on a cassette tape that was erased?
I have an old cassette tape that had my grandmother's voice on it, but it was accidentally taped over. As far as I know, there's no way to erase the current audio and got back to the previous, but I decided to ask, just in case.....
2 AnswersMusic & Music Players8 years agoAnything I can do with a very very ripe avocado?
It's been in the fridge and is very soft, not rotten, but I know it's past its prime. Should I just chuck it or is there something good I can make out of it? I hate when I forget some good food I bought and it goes bad! So any ideas?
7 AnswersOther - Food & Drink9 years agoMy 15 yr. old dog has lost weight, about 15 lbs., in the past year, so can you give me some advice?
She was a rescue I got when she was < 1 yr. old. Now she's almost 15, half blind, hard of hearing, not as active or affectionate as she used to be, and in the past year she's gone from obese to skinny. She doesn't seem to be suffering or in pain at all, just not as limber, fast, or strong as she was. I won't be able to afford expensive vet care, and I know she's getting old. My 1st dog lived to 17 and he got feeble and skinny kind of quickly too, so I'm wondering how much of it is just normal aging and the denouement of dog life. She seems happy and still loves to go for walks, but the weight loss is the main thing I'm wondering about. If it's a sign of major illness, I couldn't afford expensive treatments and I'd just have to let her go as painlessly as possible for her. I can't even afford the thyroid test the vet recommended. Is that really important for a 15 year old dog? I mean it's not likely she'd live to 20 anyway, so I just want some free advice here before going to the vet again and they try to sell me on some expensive bandaids for a terminal case. Thank you.
33 AnswersDogs9 years agoQuestion about how to wash a shirt that I dyed with Procion cold-water dyes?
The last time I dyed something with this dye, the color came out in the wash. This time I pre-soaked a shirt in soda ash, added the salt and saoked the shirt a good hour in the dye bath, added soda ash after soaking the shirt, and I hand washed it in some mild soap. I want to ask if I should avoid my regular laundry detergent again or is the reason the previous shirt lost its color that I didn't use the soda ash?
