Will they come after me for the missed flight? ?

I found a one way flight from NYC to Lisbon for $300+ on Air Portugal. Then I looked up NYC to Madrid. It was $179 with a change in Lisbon on the SAME FLIGHT with Air Portugal!! I think I can just book to Madrid, get out in Lisbon and miss my flight to Madrid. Or not???

Update:

No luggage. Only carry on.

They might.  Lufthansa has sued passengers for not completing their booked flights (they did the same as you want to - found a cheaper flight and did not use the final portion), although it looks as if nothing has come of it - so far.  See links for more information.

Aa long as you don't have a return flight on the same itinerary, it's doubtful anything will happen.  However, the airlines do keep track and if you do it more than once, they do reserve the right to refuse travel.

If you don't board the Lisbon-Madrid flight any remaining flights on your reservation will be cancelled; this includes your return flight.

What about your luggage?   It would not automatically be unloaded in Lisbon and they may have issues when you are not in the seat and they have to obey security regulations and hold the plane to remove your bags.  If you have only carry on and are sure they will allow you off the fight, that might be a different issue.
