Anthony Geary as lead actor on General Hospital?

Tony Geary is good at what he does, but it's hardly worth "the big Prize"! Steve, and Maurice have excellent characters to portray. The complexities of the characters, and remaining true to "them", must be more challenging than what Tony muddles through. I think it would be nice if at least ONE of them was given a shot at the recognition they deserve! A "part-time" character, should not be "up" for any award of any consequence.

I may love the "Luke" character, but I respect the commitment that Steve & Maurice bring, on a regular basis.

MB and Geary were GH's picks in their category... I think this year is a bit off due to the writer's strike.

In any case , Geary has won many emmys so far, enabling him to negotiate a sweetheart of a deal ( 6 months on , 6 months off) - you can't really fault him for getting the best deal he could ( or terms he wanted at least ) , can you ? If more leads could get that kind of deal ( Kim Zimmer has said she wished she had it) they would!!

I know. In fact, I'll bet he is getting ready to "leave" for some big adventure any day now. I expect he will be missing in action for quite a while. Not to take anything away from Mr. Geary, he is a great actor, character, and singer, too. ( Remember the "I Did it My Way" Frank Sinatra impression.) Other actors on GH are also just as deserving.

Tony Geary has been on GH playing Luke Spencer since 1978 to 1984 and from 1993 to present. He basically is the show.

Seems like he always gets nominated. I think he's a great actor, and he's been on so long, but Maurice and Steve also deserve some recognition. I'm not happy with the nominations this year altogether- OLTL, which has been great this year, was practically ignored (except for Susan Haskell and Bree Williamson).

Luke is considered tops every since the starting of [Luke& Laura storyline which people thought was Phenominal hes recognized [as Luke from GH ] so yes he is big hes been with the show for so many years and he is just up there lol.

I totally agree. It should be Steve Burton, I mean think about all the crap poor Jason has to put up with day in and day out.....Maxie storms in and rants and raves at him anytime she feels like it, when Spinelli gets on one of his rants it is enough to make your ears bleed, Sam pops in and out all hyper and on edge, not to mention Winifred and who in this world could leave out CARLY, all the while he is trying to find out who really shot Michael and trying to keep Sonny from doing stupid ****. If anyone deserves it, it is Jason. And you are right, we either see Luke drunk or we hear that he is off somewhere drunk.

Geary's been on the longest out of the three of them and he does lots of improv. Not to mention he's easily the most recognized soap opera character of all time.

I agree, I think Steve or Maurice should get lead actor becasue they're on the show all year long.

Maurice is way better than Geary!
