How come more people buy PC's even though MAC's are so much better?
Mac's can do so much more stuff with movies and media. And as well with buisness too. They don't get viruses or crash. They even look more attractive. And there advertised alot on tv and every popular person on Youtube has a mac. So why are PC's still more popular?

If you compare the two computers you'll find that Macs aren't the best at everything.
First off, price. Macs cost a fortune. Macs sometimes cost even more than Alienware. Why do they do it? I don't know. If you compare a $1000 PC and a $1000 Mac you'll see that the PC has much more features and abilities than the Mac.
Then hardware. Macs are limited to only two kinds of processors currently, Intel Core 2(TM) and Intel Xeon(TM). Having a PC gives you more choice over hardware than a Mac. You can make a PC out of anything, but Macs are limited to a certain kind of hardware.
Then compatibility. PCs can run much more programs than a Mac. That is the reason why PCs have over 80% of the market. You can install all kinds of junk on a PC, but Macs again are limited to a certain amount of programs.
Macs are just too expensive, and I think that is the main problem.
Some people say that Macs get less viruses than PCs. That is not true, that all depends on what the user is doing to the computer. If you download all kinds of junk and run it on your computer carelessly then chances are you are going to get an infected computer. But if you are extremely careful then chances are you are not going to get any viruses. It doesn't matter what kind of computer you have.

It all depends on what you are going to be using the computer for. If you are going to be using it for a lot of media or you're a student you should go with the Mac. If you are going to use it for other stuff(I don't really know what a PC would be better for) you should go with the PC. If you have been using a PC for a long time, and you're not very good at computers, you should probably go for the PC because it's really hard to switch. To be honest, it's all a matter of opinion. If you know anyone who has a Mac, no matter what is on it OS-X, leopard, whatever you should take a look at it and see how you like it. You probably will.

PC's grabbed the computer market before Macs did, therefore they become the standard. This in turn made them a lot cheaper because they were more popular. Then macs came along, and they only way to make any profit was to push up the price. Thus PC's are cheaper and more widely used, even if they are not as good.

They DO get viruses, and the DO crash. Obviously you haven't read any of the previous questions about all the trouble people have with Macs. I don't think that YouTube popularity has a thing to do with whether PCs are preferred over Macs. That is only YOUR opinion!

Not everybody wants to edit movies. For instance, someone like me requires engineering tools such as SolidWorks and MasterCAM. Both of those programs are not available on the Mac OS, and dual booting Windows just to use them is a waste of money.
To top it off, I like to improve the inner workings of my computer; Mac has very limited options when it comes to upgrades. Oh, and I don't get viruses or crash on my computer; I mainly use Linux.

games sir, who the **** wants a mac for gaming, not compatible with almost any game, and to get a same performance mac it would cost 2 to 3 times more than getting a pc just as powerful as the mac. Thats pretty much it pc is cheaper and meant for games. 2 out of 3 vs mac which is basicly no viruses thats it

Number one reason is due to pricing, MACS are way overpriced. Also, MAC's DO GET viruses and exploits, and it's a lot easier to do to MAC's then Windows. Also, another big reason is people are mostly already used to Windows User Interface, Macs U.I take awhile to learn.
The main advantage to buying a PC is having the most compatibility with all available hardware and software in the Personal Computer market. I'm sure if Mac's were about them same price as PC's their market share would be equal, they both have their pros and cons.

yes but macs are terrible for like proper gaming, they are overpriced, the upgrading is very hard to do, try and do yahoo chat/paltalk etc.. ohh guess want you cant get voice you can see the text unless you install windows on the mac.. ohh wait. .pc's can do that without any problem.
yes they are good for business usage, movies and media i would say they are balanced since some people dont want to use everything branded 'i-this, i-that etc..'

PC's are cheaper they can do a lot more because there is more software out there for them. Oh and you can build a PC and buy parts for a PC unlike a MAC. MAC's don't get viruses because no one cares to write ones for them.
The limited software and inability to build one from parts keeps me from buying one.
Best of luck

Macs don't get virus but they still get spyware and trojan. PC's are cheaper and have more power then a crappy mac. Macs suck so bad.
