I'm sure you all have your flags flying!! Right?? If not - WHY NOT??

Update:

THANK YOU BAMFORD! My Father was at Mendlesham. He commented often on the kindness of the British. Thank you for making him feel a little bit "at home."

I am sure the US Flag will be flying at Madingley American Military Cemetery in Cambridgeshire, here in the UK -

As well as the American Air Museum at nearby Duxford -

And of course at the US Bases here in the UK.

All the Best to the US Forces.

@34th B.G. - USAAF - your dad was of a generation that gave so much and who should never be forgotten. I have been to the US Cemetery at Madingley in Cambridgeshire and it is quite beautiful and thought provoking. The USAF and it's predecessor the USAAF are well thought of by many of the locals in East Anglia and over the years a strong bond has built up between the community and the US Service Personnel based nearby.

East Anglia in England is one of the spiritual homes of the USAF, indeed not far away is Bassingbourn, where the real Memphis Belle was based, indeed Bassingbourn was used in the film Memphis Belle as well as being used as Parris Island in the film Full Metal Jacket.
