Conservatism is seen as uncaring. However, the current situation is a shining example of how it is the best way. People in these states have to work (and yes there are still poor people and the unemployed). However with governments that are more friendly to the economy haven't turned these states into slaves to the corporations, like alot of people surmize. But, instead, have given them a place where the corporate interests and peoples interests can coexist.

Take Michigan (Detroit, specifically) as an example of the oposite. Detroit has been run by progressive liberals for some time. Its "progressive labor laws" and its tendancy to do everything the unions want has turned it into a wasteland.

Every state except Vermont has legal requirements to have a balanced budget every year.. These requirements vary in stringency from state to state. You can read the newspaper and see how many states are now in the red. If states would strickly adhere to their balanced budget requirements they would avoid alot of the problems they are now having.

The Federal Government will be changing the laws of the land that will force states with surplusses help states that are in the red.

Difference indeed. That is why your hero wants to "Share the wealth". The conservatives can save and the liberals will spend after robbing the conservatives.

Libs want the gov't to solve every problem, which it cannot do. Right wingers want less gov't which works just fine in theory AND in practice, unlike socialism, communism, marxism, etc.

yeah and those where the states that received the most money from the because of being conservative states....
