Help with Gigabyte Motherboard!! Can't get audio to work?

I was recently given a Gigabyte motherboard (GA-G31M-ES2L) and have successfully installed it into my computer. The only problem is I can't get the audio driver to work!!! Because I don't have the original CD I had to download the driver from the Gigabyte website. Upon doing this i tried to install the Realtek High Definition Audio program/driver but when the installation finishes and i have restarted there is still no sound and no sound mixers/devices are present.

I am running windows XP and whenever I start the computer it tells me "Found New Hardware - Multimedia Audio Controller" I also try to use the found new hardware wizard but it keeps telling me it can't find a suitable driver for the device. Anyone who owns this motherboard or knows stuff about audio drivers plz help me!!! Thanks (I know that was alot to get through)

Go to windows updates and install all the new updates. Now don't use express scan, use advanced scan. When it finishes look under hardware and you will more than likely see the audio card drivers. Now don't go crazy with the hardware updates, ATI, NVIDIA drivers from Microsoft seem to take you back to the 16 bit video mode. All other hardware drivers seem to be OK. You might want to update any critical updates as well. Don't do them all at once. If you need more help send me an email and I'll try to help you.
