been on period for 3weeks.?

Well I've been on my period for 3weeks starting today and it doesn't seem to be slowing down. It has been sort of heavy since the middle of the first week. I had a baby about 6months ago and my mom says that is the reason why I've had it so long but I want someone else's opinion.

Update:

I also have an IUD as my birth control but I haven't had a period this long before while being on it.

Id call the OBGYN. You may be to stressed out. I know that happened to me once and that's all it was. I was stressed out. 3 weeks is along time to be having your period and being you had a baby 6 months ago you shouldn't be having your period like that. Only 6 weeks after your baby is born do you bleed. So the best advise anyone can give you is please go get checked out by the doctor.Good luck.

I had mine for 2 weeks one time just after having my first child and my mum said it would be fine and that i was just catching up for all the ones i missed.

If it carries on, i would go and see a doctor. It could be something dodgy.

Give your obgyn a call on Monday and ask. That seems like a long time to be on your period.

    Woahhh three weeks?

Hmmm I'd get that checked out, it's only supposed to continue for like a week or less.

Ask your mom to take you to the doctor maybe?

    Wish you luck!
