First let me identify myself as having had an abortion. Having said that, let me state unequivocally that I am pro-life.

A woman has the right to choose whether or not she wants a baby before intercourse occurs. If she is willing ho have sex, but not a baby, she should be diligent in preventing pregnancy from occurring. There are several highly effective contraceptives, which include the pill, intrauterine devices, cervical cap, spermicide and the only form of contraceptive that is always 100 % effective, abstinence.

In the case of rape, she should seek counseling and strive to understand that two wrongs don't make things right. Getting an abortion is willfully ending the life of another human being. That is murder. This means that I am a murderer. I accept responsibility for my actions. I praise God that I have been forgiven. I will always regret the choices I made to terminate pregnancy, and end life that was created by God.

Women, if you find yourself pregnant with an unwanted child, give it to those who do want it. Many worthy couples would gladly adopt your baby. As human beings we should always seek the high road, and do our best to set right our wrong actions and/or the wrong actions of others. Nine months of discomfort caused by an unplanned pregnancy is more than offset by the awareness that you have brought new life into the world, and given a loving couple the opportunity to become a family.

Even if you don't believe in God, you should still believe in life. Don't deny the opportunity for another human being to experience it. I can tell you from personal experience that you will most likely regret such a decision.

I am personally against it but I am a guy so I have a somewhat detached perspective. I would never want any of my relatives to have one, nor do I feel I could live with myself if I accidentally got a woman pregnant & she aborted it.

However different people have different circumstances and I think this is something that should be a private and personal decision. Also, if abortion is illegal, some abortions will be done in back alleys rather than in a clean medical setting. Therefore I am against it but I would never support making it illegal.

I believe that it is wrong to abort out of convenience. I think abortion is an option if lives are in danger. With rape, I believe if the mother can have the child (psychologically and physically strong enough) then that child should be born, but given up for adoption if the mother feels like she may place blame on the child.

I'm all for it. We're steadily reaching an overpopulation. It should be the sole decision of the woman carrying the baby, since it's mainly THEIR burden.

Here's a good question, as well:

Would you rather have the abortion and know that that baby won't have to suffer through the bad parts of this world,

or would you rather put it up for adoption after it's born and it possibly have one of the worst lives?

Or perhaps something worse, like carelessly discarding that baby on a random doorstep or another, even worse place?

I don't believe one should bring something into this world that they themselves aren't going to give true life. If that child is discarded or put up for adoption, they have to live with the knowledge, "My mommy didn't want me."

If I were that child, I would have wanted to be taken out of this world before I even saw it rather than have that kind of thought stuck in my head for my whole life.

it's a difficult question, because if you don't do a abortion . But don't keep the child yourself, and put in a orphanage . Would it be fair to a child ? If you keep it and you're a child yourself, can you raise the child properly to be a good grownup ? And if you do a abortion, are you guilty of murder ?

In my opinion, you shouldn't do a abortion . But i have a steady job and a good income . But when you don't have that, and are a child you're self it would be very difficult to be a parent . i think, you have to ask a member of your church municipality ? ( I'm dutch so sorry for my bad English)

In the eyes of the Lord, man's life begins in the womb. As a disciple of Jesus Christ, the holy Messiah, I must state that abortion is an evil thing. It is murder of an helpless infant.

You will also find that many women who are not believers are against abortion either because of their own personal experiences with such or because they love life.

You will find many men who would have their girlfriend or wife get an abortion because they do not want a child by them and you will find others who love the modern abortion protections so that they may cover up their crimes (rape/incest).

May the Lord bless you and keep you always.

I believe most now a days are for it.

    Im AGAINST it.

Think why the ball has shifted 1.More atheist who see no consequences for their actions.

And complacent christians who think it will all work out to their good no matter what and they put the value of their own life ahead of the value of anyone else's.We are sacrificing our children to the devil .Idol worship. Why do we abort? Look at the motives!

    1. Its just not the right time/Im not ready well then you are not ready to have sex either if you are not ready to face the possibilities of what that may bring not only a child you say your not ready for but diseases.

    2. I'm just not financially ready.(Love of money your idol)Money and position more important than life.

    3. im to young back to one then you are to young to be having sex.

4.i'm to poor then you are to poor to purchase protection so to poor to be having sex.Get out of bed get a job or go to school and better your life spend your time doing that instead of in bed with the possibilities of getting pregnant.

5.Not ready for my figure to be shot......then should not be having sex knowing you could get pregnant.Vanity

    6. Even to the point I may die ...... there is the one place I see you making the decision. If it is a documented threat to your life to have the baby then you should be aloud to decide.Don't think i'd want to face that problem because once again back to me saying my life is more important than my unborn child.

    7. Rape ........the child has nothing to do with the father.Don't blame the child give him or her up.

That one the decision was taken away from you so I can see if it is a documented rape you decide.I think I could get past the evil to save the child.

Abortion is not something you "believe in."

Nobody is in favor of abortion.

However, many feel the DECISION to have an abortion is a personal one and should not be controlled by church or government, and the issue is not about abortion but about CHOICE.

Some people think abortions are bad. They cite the 6th commandment "Thou shall not kill" as evidence. The problem with this is, it doesn't say "thou shalt not kill fetuses but criminals, cows, chickens, and fish are ok to kill" and the same people who call themselves "pro life" have no problems killing all other forms of life, which I find hypocritical.

Furthermore, contrary to what some people here claim, the bible says absolutely nothing about abortion being wrong.

    See: http://www.freethoughtpedia.com/wiki/Abortion_and_...

People that call themselves "pro life" don't really have any scriptural leg to stand on. They don't have any ideological leg to stand on either (unless they're vegan). The "Pro life" movement is simply a convenient cause for religious people to rally around for comraderie. It really doesn't jive with their own scripture and doctrine.

    1) I believe it exists. It is reality.

    2) It involves killing a human being. To assume that the living fetus is not a human being until he/she happens to relocate from inside a womb to outside is ridiculous. And building arguments based on "fetus" versus "baby" is hiding behind word games. And the argument based upon "it is a woman's body" is disingenuous because the fetus is a human which differs from the mother in having unique DNA, proving it is a separate individual -- so it is not "her body" to kill. And arguments based upon pragmatics are not about trivial issues but they DO become secondary when a LIFE is at stake. If someone tried to use those same "practical" arguments to justify killing a disabled senior citizen, a murder indictment will still be expected. (And if such an argument claimed that the senior citizen was a parasite on his/her family, it would convince no one. Plus, until the abortion debate, doctors/scientists never referred to the fetus as a PARASITE -- so it is another word game.)

No one believes in Abortion, they believe in the right of a woman to choose.

From a civil perspective I think woman should always have that right. From a spiritual/religious perspective I do not agree with abortion and I would never want my spouse (or girlfriend) to commit such an action.
