Is the highest grade of gasoline at shell any better than the regular grade?
I am thinking about when I get gas next time I am going to get the V-power. But as the price of gas is going up I am just wondering if its really any better for your car than the regular grade of gasoline.

don't! its really a waste of money and you will see NO benefits if your car was built to run on regular gasoline.
you see, in a gasoline engine, the piston compresses a mixture of gasoline and air, then a spark plug ignites it. how much compression is happening is called the compression ratio. if the compression ratio in an engine is higher than a certain point, you have to start using higher octane fuels to prevent your fuel from igniting early under compression before the spark even ignites it. most cars that have high compression engines are in performance cars. so if you put premium gasoline into a regular engine, you won't be doing anything to improve the engine's performance or mileage.

Premium fuel is "better" only if your car's engine was built to perform on premium, otherwise you'll be wasting your money. Corvettes, Cobra Mustangs, BMW M-series, etc are high performance engines that require high-test gasoline. If you don't own a car like this, then just continue using regular.

If you car requires Premium or Mid-grade then use it. If it doesn't just get Regular and save you money. All gas has detergents in it and those bottled injector cleaners don't work. Well that's what a mechanic told me anyway.

The quality is the same. The Premium grades have a higher octane rating and are for use in high performance engines. They are of no use and a waste of money if your car doesn't need it.

its better only if your car needs it..."better" is not the correct word ...a high performance engine needs it to work as designed...most cars are fine with regular unless manufacturer calls for premium gas

depends what kind of car you drive...v-power is mainly for high performance engines..
