Regarding upgradation of my laptop's internal Hard Drive...?

Hey everyone! I'm doubtful as to whether I can upgrade my laptop's (Acer TravelMate 3240) HDD or not. A few days ago i went ahead and opened my laptop to see the original HDD's specs.. Here they are:

Toshiba - Disk Drive - MK6034GAX

HDD 2D17 E 2K01 S

DC + 5V 1.0A

[2.5" 9.5mm Laptop HardDrive]

60.00 GB (LBA 117, 210, 240 sectors)

My question is, is it possible to replace this Hard Drive with one of higher capacity? Is there any other compatibility issues to check with? Also, it is connected to my laptop using some kind of 46-pins or something.. is this avail with all HDDs?I'm planning to buy it once all my doubts are cleared.. Thanks!

Update:

****I've bought the retail XP cd a few months ago... will that be ok?Also my laptop is currently running on xp installed from a different disc.. Actually, there is no restore cds included with my laptop ****

yes you can change the hdd to a bigger capacity, just make sure the new one has the same connections as the old one, it sounds like an IDE hard drive, any 2.5 inch hard drive with an IDE connection will fit fine

maximum laptops have a separate partition on the tensechronic with the restoration records on it. so in case you dont have a retail version of your working equipment i'm unsure the type you will possibly do it? i do no longer understand if the restoration discs will artwork on a sparkling sparkling tensechronic?
