DUI - Dreaming under the influence?

When a person already knows what it's like to be high on something, and later they dream about having another such experience, and realize it was just like the real thing, complete with all the expected feelings... then have they been high without the drug? Of course if you woke them, it would fade just like that... but I wonder, could you call the dream state of being high a state of being high?

Yes, you can replicate those feelings in a dream. In fact, there is little difference between the dream and the real experience.

Since you are a poet, I'll give you a random consciousness stream to contemplate.

I can see the stars at night,

And hear the wolf's solitary call.

But, as to why they exist,

Or why I can sense their presence,

It's a grand mystery to me.
