The brake fluid will , if left in there long enough, swell up any rubber components in the sytem.. You haven't hurt it yet if you will either drain it and refill with the correct power steering fluid or go to a shop that can perform a power steering fluid flush. Ususally runs about 70 dollars and uses a solvent to flush the system and then refills with the correct fluid..
Do it very soon though.

I have seen a bunch of wrong answers here but brake fluid is meant to work with natural rubber products that is why you don't want any petroleum products in your brake system it causes rubber to swell. but brake fluid in the power steering that depends on the amount if its a small amount a simple draining will more than likely be fine.

Not a good thing. Break fluid has no lubricating properties, in fact it will strip the oil out of the bearings in the pump. Have the system flushed before you drive it. You could be looking at a new pump and possibly the rack & pinion.

you should be able to drain the power steering fluid reservoir itself, there should be a little hose at the bottom with a clamp, just undo the clamp and drain the reservoir. If you start your car it will get pumped through the system probably.

Brake fluids are non- mineral oil. Transmission/ skill guidance fluids are mineral. Mineral oils attack organic rubber. Brake rubbers are organic rubber. in the previous flushing, make certain they do away with the oil in the brake reservoir. sparkling it as much as achieveable. in hassle-free terms then, flush.

Shane A your wrong it has and is a lubricant but it has anti rust compounds (rust inhibitors) in it to keep metal from rusting it will eat up any and all rubber that is made from budal (rubber tree) it will lubricate tho. i use it on lawnmower break cables (compliance cables) and throttle cabels that have rusted and chains and to take paint off of *** hole's cars

Bad bad bad bad bad bad.
You'll have to flush it out, good. I am usually very laid back, but not this time.
