Brock Lesnar vs. Frank Mir UFC 100!?
Brock Lesnar meets Frank Mir in a rematch to their February 2008 showdown for the undisputed UFC heavyweight belt in what promises to be the biggest showdown in UFC history. Will Frank make Brock tap out yet again or will the former WWE superstar finally prove all his remaining MMA doubters wrong and have his vengeance on the UFC legend? I think this will be a different fight from the first as Brock has had time to develop his game and learn from his mistakes. I don't want to call the fight as I actually see it as very close. Brock is a genetic freak who has learned fast and well while Mir looked unstoppable in his fight with Minatauro. I won't award points based on who you think is going to win, but on how well you argue it. I'm totally stoked for this epic battle. The only thing that can top this is if the winner of this fight would would agree to take on Fedor Emelianenko. That would make 2009 the best year yet despite getting laid off!

I hate to say this, but I have a bad feeling that Brock is going to get even. He's VERY unhappy about last time. Yes, Mir won... but does everybody remember how close it was? If he didn't get hit in the back of the head... he doesn't have it. I want Mir to win, I think he's FAR, FAR, FAR more complete and sound in his skills. Mir has NEVER looked better. If he can get past the opening barrage from Lesnar he can take him out.
Lesnar has a ridiculous perspiration rate, making it tough to get an arm (I'm going to say leg too... yes I watched the first fight), after they get going in the fight. Lesnar has been making leaps and bounds trying to get his technical skill up to his physical potential. I would like to have Mir catch him snoozing again. I want to see him sneak another one. Hey, I want to see his (Mir's) technical boxing be able to keep Lesnar at bay, but I think Lesnar has the reach advantage.
I have the same feeling going into this that I had when he fought Randy. I think that puncher's chance is going to turn into a puncher's victory. (Ugh... I hate saying that). This is going to be a great fight.
No, i don't think either of them has a prayer against Fedor. Fedor is a different species when it comes to MMA... it's scary. Fedor has taken out bigger, stronger before... and would do it again. I also think Mir's skills in subs doesn't beat out Fedor's... at all... not even a little bit. The reason Fedor doesn't get 'quality' opponents is because once they get in there with Fedor... they look like they don't have any quality. He's just that superior, period.

Frank Mir still has the advantage going into the octagon. A big guy who possesses bantamweight submission skills, good on his back, a relax stand up, and a much developed fighter than Brock Lesnar. Though Lesnar is beginning to pick up the game, i still think that at this early stage of his career his body built can react to only one fighting style and that is jumping on guys and overwhelm them with his size and power. Brock Lesnar is not that yet intimidating skillwise (offensively and defensively) and that's where Frank Mir's abilities can get in. We all both know that Mir and Couture have different fighting styles. Lesnar is always a 90% winner if he will come across with fighters who are willing to stand up with him, and that's where Couture made his mistake, he readilly admitted that. He got too confident until he got caught. Beef, i know you know well what Mir is capable of. Having said that, what i love about this kind of sports is that a single punch can change the whole complexion of the fight, it could either knock you out cold or put you in a better position as the fight progress. No matter what Frank Mir have on paper Brock Lesnar can bin with power. Let's enjoy the fight Beef.

All you guys who think Brock lesnar will win this fight, are mistaken. While Lesnar is a freak of nature, Mir's technique is 10 times better in every single aspect of the sport. In MMA, technique is paramount, beating size and strength 9 times out of 10. You gus have to remember, yea brock lesnar is beast, but Mir is 6'2" and 250lbs. That is NOT a small man. Mir is plenty big enough and strong enough to hold his own in that department. I dont care what anyone on here says, a guy Mir's size has the power in his frame to knockout any human being on the planet....trust me. Mir is a good(not great) striker. Lesnar's striking is "run of the mill" at the very best, but more often it is sub-par. I dont know if you people know it or not Mir is a blackbelt in BJJ. Of course Lesnar is strong and has a wrestling backround, but he isnt nearly as profficient in any aspect of the ground game as Mir is. So Mir is better at every aspect of MMA than Lesnar...the only thing brock has is strength....trust me Frank Mir isnt very weak.....plenty strong enough to hold off Lesnar until he knocks him out or submits him. I honestly think that Brock Lesnar has a year or two more to go before he is an elite fighter....his belt is a fluke, and I feel that there are 2 or 3 other heavyweights that are better than him....and fighting an ailing "on his way out" 45 year old Randy Couture and winning doesnt prove anything really.

I'm thinking Mir is going to win their second match up at UFC 100 too. His striking is crazy, good, like he showed against Nogueira and I think he's much better than Lesnar on the groud. Brock has a chance though because he's so big and strong. If he lands a sound punch on Mir, he could end the fight, but I don't see it going like that. I think Mir will attempt to take him down (which is going to be tough in it's own right) and then look to submit him. I think that's how it will end. It's going to be a hell of a fight, I've been waiting for it for months.

Mir all the way. Although Brock has a "punchers chance" he simply does not have the skills and experience that Mir possesses. Who cares if Brock is big and intimidating, Mir being a veteran has seen it all. He isnt phased by size. Mir is a smart fighter, and will make Brock fight Mirs fight. Mir will get Brock on the ground (wether he gets a taken down or baits him in) and once Brock is on the ground, he will be submitted. I think Mir will latch onto an arm with about a minute left in the first round and win by armbar ( I dont think he will break it like he did to tim sylvia though)

Could go either way, I always read that Brock has learned a lot in the last year-That being said-Frank is still years ahead of Lesnar in the submission game. I think it will be a close fight, I'm going with Lesnar in a 3rd rd GNP TKO, But it wouldn't surprise me if Mir gets a submission again. Hows that for a non committal answer?

I will go with Mir for the fight since I think Mir has more weapons and tools to finish off Lesnar rather than Lesnar having the tools to finish off Mir. Mir can finish off Lesnar via submission since Mir's submission and technicality on the ground is much better than Brock. Brock might be a great college wrestler, but it has been awhile since he has submitted anyone and he never submitted anyone in his MMA career so far. And adding to the fact that he's trying to submit a professional martial artists highly rated in submission skills, probably a slim chance for Brock there. On standup, both Brock and Mir aren't good, so both men would be a draw there and capable of KOing the other out. The only advantage I see Brock having over Mir is his power and weight. His best chance to beat Mir would be a lucky KO on standup or if Brock can take him down and unleashes his ground and pound on Mir, something I believe Brock should've improved on after all the training he got. But against Mir, out grappling and trapping him in the GnP wouldn't be too easy. My bet leans towards Mir.
Either of these men especially are nowhere near Fedor's league. Fedor is better than Brock in everything other than strength. But using your solely your power and strength will barely do anything in gaining an advantage on the smart strategizing Fedor. Mir's best shot of beating Fedor will probably be on the ground and trying to submit him. But in a submissioning or grappling game with Fedor, even a great submissionist like Mir will not fare well with Fedor. Fedor just seems more well rounded than Mir in any way.

Mir is better in every aset of the game except wrestling but he is one of the best BJJ guys around an Brock shouldn't want to take him down because he has no ground game. His standup looked insane against Big Nog and it is much better than Brock's. Fedor won't fight either of theese two unless Couture can't fight, or he gets signed to a 4 or 5 fighter or longer deal, which won't happen becuase Affliction and all the other companies will pay insane amounts to get him. If he does fight in the UFC it will most likley be against Couture in a one fight deal.

I really think that Brock is going to win the fight in the first round by TKO. Brock is faster than Frank Mir and he is definitely faster we saw him on Heath herring fight, In an interview joe rogan sayed that he had never seen a heavyweight moving like a light weigh . You see if the fight goes to stand up Brock has the advantage i am sure he will knock Mir out if it goes on stand up. Brock lesnar is also better wrestler. Frank has only one advantage and that is he has good BJJ skills.

In my opinion, brock lesnar will win. He is just too strong and powerful. Mir is as far as technique is concerned, far more skilled then brock. But Lesnar is on a whole different level of Strength. He muscles around 240+ fighters will ease. Also Mir has good ju jitsu and all, but Brock was a NCAA champion multiple times in wrestling.
The ONLY person i think could accually beat Lesnar is Fedor, simply because he has dynamite in his hands and comes into the ring/octogon with murderous intentions i think. lol (but thats off topic srry)
My guess is Brock Lesnar by T.K.O.
