i think smart cars are small, economical and practical however i dont think the soft tops look very nice and i dont think it would be classed as a 'pulling machine'. i would not deem it as a cool car as it were but if you want a cheap run around then that is fine. however knowing myself as a teen and seeing others i know many teens have cars full but as you say this will lead to less distractions for your driving. it is a good start for a first car as it is cheap to run, low on tax and insurance although it will not be fast because i do not think they have a very large engine- saying that you could 'cool it up' a bit with extras but this may add to premiums. however i would still deem a smart car for a teenage bit a bit uncool- although totally your own choice and taste- as they are usually seen being driven by old people :)

Depends on where and how you drive. Would be good for city driving. Love the idea that it is so small that it can be backed into a parallel paking space without sticking out too far. Has a great safety and crash tests rating considering that it looks like a tuna can. However it's terrible on faster highways. It's so small and lightweight that when passing big transport trucks you're literally blown around the road. Bad "turbulance" that makes it difficult to control on highways and in high winds. Some driver say the MPG they get is WAY less than advertised. One owner I know claims he only gets 36MPG when it was supposed to get more like 55 MPG. He also says he has had transmisson problems (jerky shifts), that the dealership can't seem to correct.

In all honesty you're going to regret the one passenger pretty quickly. There are countless situations where the extra room would come in handy. (The passenger side is used mainly for extra trunk space, anyway) Secondly, you can get a decent pre-owned Honda that goes twice as fast for the price of a smart car. There's really no point. Lastly, you're 6'2. I'm 5'11'' and I still hit the tops of most cars when I get in. You'd basically have to crawl into it, and that might look kind of awkward. So basically - It doesn't fit any of your needs, so it isn't exactly ideal for you.

You are to tall for a smart car. I do not think you would be comfortable in it. No it is not fast at all. I had one. I traded it. It was OK, I found it not to be fun to drive. I am 5'2 and I felt big in it.
It is funny how people have s much to say but have probably never ever done any research on the car. As for being spoiled. It is funny, jealously is horrible.

No, don't get one of those, they only have 3 cylynders which means it's goin to have no power. Your goin to have to put it at full throttle just to go on the freeway. And id be afraid to drive one of those, imagine bein hit by a semi truck in one of those little things. And they're pretty small for a tall guy. Get a mustang or a subaru imprezzda or a 350z Those are some pretty good cars. They're good quality and they're good lookin cars

Make sure you can fit in it first. The damn thing is about the size of a golf cart (literally). Other than that, it's very good on gas and teenagers don't usually have much money, so it sounds like a good buy.

Stupid idea. The Smart car isn't very smart. Hels no it isn't fast.
A Corolla gets better gas mileage and a Jetta is way more practical.
Smart cars are a toy for the rich.

u should be alright but remember the crash rating is about the same as a Honda fit, and it runs on medium grade gas not regular if u get one order a diesel one they get 80MPG city better then the 33MPG city the regular one gets.

Yeah but think about it
You'll probably most likely get in an accident
It's what happens when people start driving
Now, think about how small the car is...
Do you really think it's a good idea to be hit in that?
I DON'T THINK SO!
You'll be flat as a pancake
So my vote, not a good idea
Hope that helps! ^^

i think its a cool car. and affordable. if i had the money i would get a mustang convertable or chevy camaro. but a smartcar is good on gas and cheaper. im sure you could fit in it
