Who typically hosts a house warming party?
My brother and his girlfriend just bought their first house and Id like to have a house warming party for them. Would that be appropriate? Does a friend or family member typically throw the party or do the home owners themselves?
Thanks for your help!

Jaim Jaim you are so sweet to want to do this but it should be the homeowner that throws the party. What you could do is say "we" would really like to do this for you and will take care of everything just have them send out the invitations and invite the folks they want to have come and say this is our house warming gift to you.

The homeowners. They are the ones that know when and if their home is put together and ready for a party. I would be furious if someone wanted to do that for me. I don't need someone wanting to set a date for a party at MY house.I will do that myself when I am ready.

The people who just moved are usually the hosts but you can do it too. That's really nice of you. :D

Usually the home owners in their new home. If you do it, do it in their home so everyone can see it.
