I am considering buying a country house in upstate NY in a town called Hancock... Anyone know about this place can give me some insight

So last night I am relaying a story to my BF about this person who was totally disrespectful to me and in our home and his reply was "well I was not there so I don't know"

How would you react to that?

So I have these two large Pine trees and yesterday I took off about 3 feet worth of dead limbs off the bottom of the trees. I raked it all out and have a great deal of area underneath them both (they are right next to each other) I get some sun light in that area due to the dead limbs being taken off but not a great deal. Can I get grass to grow underneath the Pines? I am unsure what to put there if not grass it now seems kinda baron any suggestions?

So here is the deal. My partner is out in Vegas working and has been for like 10 weeks due home in 3 weeks I went out to visit for a week last week of March and it cost me like 2500 bucks in total. Now I am being asked to return for a few days. I have been checking airfares and they are over 400 bucks and I cannot afford to pay that right now. So my partner comes back with oh use my miles.. of which there are over 300,000... (never used) When I went to go check the details it came up that it would cost 75000 freq flier miles... He freaked out and then said "I may not even stay till that date" Then passed me off to one of his co-workers to use his freq flyer miles which are expiring... I am so pissed off.. I maintain the house the bills for the past 2 months and his precious miles he cannot use on me and then to pass me off to a co-worker like a charity case! So I let it go till today he e-mails me with travel deals off Expedia, the price remains the same, I write back showing him the price is still the same and he writes "oh just use my miles" What do I do?

This morning I am leaving for work, when I look down my driveway there is a truck parked at my neighbors home with a workman standing by it and they have left a ladder sticking into my driveway. I shout down the driveway "excuse me" with no results, I then say "hey buddy" no reply finally I shout "hey" the guy finally turns and I say "I need to get my car out can you move the ladder" the guy just stands there, I then say "is there a problem?" his reply finally is "yea you could be a bit nicer about it" This really irked me cause he was blocking my driveway I called out to him 3x and then he comes back with that. Whats the deal?

I have this 'couple" friends who I entertain a great deal the one half of the couple is a good friend his partner is not. Each and every time I invite them over the partner only comes if Dinner is being served. He never brings anything in and most times will show up right around when dinner is being served. Last night he came right on time and sick, only dinner was still being cooked and proceeded to sit and tell each person that was helping how to cook it. In all the years I have known them I was invited once to there home and the partner was not even there at that time.

It is so bothersome to me how cheap this guy but I have to grin and bear it I know. I want so badly to make a comment about how rude it is that he shows up with NOTHING and never lifts a plate after dinner is over.

My BF whom I live with was asked to brunch by two of his close friends. I actually saw the invite on his e-mail account. The invite said "just the three of us".

Now why the heck would I not be invited, it is not a boys thingy cause one of the friends is a girl. The girl I do not trust as far as I can throw her.

I have this good friend of mine who was married to a guy for 17 years. He (I am positive) is Gay and a drunk and drug addict, a horrible provider and a really sad excuse for a Father. They lived in her parents two family home and tortured her parents as he was a fairly bad guy. Finally she leaves him but for another guy. This guy is Married and 2x divorced and works with her.

She is a very pretty attractive girl who basically could get anyone. These two have been having an affair for close to a year now and she is forever on the phone with him. We finally convinced her to throw the husband out and he finally left in May and now the guy she is having the affair with (no kids) has finally left his wife. She is so wrapped up in this drama and chaos it is pathetic and she has a 12 year old daughter who knows it all as she hears the Mom constantly talking on the phone to the married guy. I feel terrible for the little girl as her Mom comes home late every night from work and then when she is home she is on the phone with him. How do I go about knocking some sense into her and letting her know what her real priorities should be?

When this New Year arrived and she knew she was about to take the plunge with getting her husband out of the house she said to me "this is the year about me" UH HELLO! you have a young daughter who is about to come into a single family household and this is the year about you???

Okay so we hired this new girl at work and she is so high maint it is exhausting. I am her boss and she challenges me every single moment. I am not a babysitter and she needs babysitting. So bottom line she does not like me but hey I am not here for friends.

She has no bad mouthed me to the powers that be and is now to the point of being flippant with me. I have kept my cool and let her start to cook her own goose. Yesterday I was out on sales calls and called in to talk with her she was out for 2 hours lunch and Doctor. Then when she came back and was given the message she did not call. Now she left work early and no call to me and it is now noon and she has not shown up for work no call but texted one of my employees. What to do?

We have ripped out and gutted our kitchen and took out the wall seperating the dining room from the kitchen. We are installing new french doors off the back to the deck. Installing all brand new wood floors through out the first floor. New ceilings and high hats. I know that once this is all done the living room furniture which is about 7 years old now will look horrible but we have spent close to 75 thousand so far on the reno. How do I convince my honey we need new furniture without him having a stroke?

So a friend of mine is in the midst of getting a Divorce. She has a child who lives with her and she has finally gotten her husband out of the house. Neither has filed for Divorce yet. He has no idea though that for the past 9 months she has been having an affair with another married guy from where she works. The other guys wife knows something is up and we think she knows about my friend. So question, will this effect my friend in gaining custody (not full) of her child?

I started a new job back in March, I manage a staffing office. I have 3 people who report to me. One of the people is not doing so well and is not meeting her goals as mandated by the Corporation we work for. So I was instructed by my Boss to give her a "verbal warning"

Soon as I did my Boss came back with information she chose not to share with me. Back when I first started this worker bad mouthed me to a Sr. VP of the company at an awards reception. Totally unfounded, then bad mouthed me to someone at home office about a serious racial incident, totally unfounded, When HR confronted her she backed down. Yet now I am being discussed within the corporate environment. My boss said that "look she knows she is going down and she is looking to bring you with her" I have kept my mouth shut but Lord knows it aint easy. Any help or suggestions. I am getting real nervous here

So we have been together for 9yrs now live in the same house and he has a very good job works from home has tons of toys yet he is always miserable. He aches all the time complains about what he thinks others are thinking about him. Complains if anyone asks him to do anything. I work from 9-5 come home clean up after him make dinner while he lays on the couch and watches TV. I know that he maybe works a total of 3 hours a day and bitches that his Mom might call to have him clean the pool and how it upsets him that she thinks he has nothing to do all day. His family and friends are fearful of asking him to do anything and refuses to make plans and uses work as an excuse that his life is in such turmoil. He is a heavy smoker and really does not exercise, though I have begged him to at least walk with me in the evening he wont go. He sleeps minimum of 10-11 hrs a night and is always tired.

I sometimes get angry but other times feel sad for him.

She is such a trainwreck and how she totally humiliated herself by bolting from the dinner table at Jill's place.

She realized how "classless" she was after hearing the spew that was coming out of her month.... Good grief how she must have cringed when watching herself on TV (shudder)
