What would your reaction be?

Sounds like he was honest. I generally don't have too much of a reaction when someone brings up a good point and is honest with me.

I've been given that answer before and it usually means any of the following in my case:

1) You are telling a story about a family member or somebody valuable to either you or your "bf", and the response "I don't know because I wasn't there" is usually to leave the conversation open as to not offend anyone.

2) Your "bf" is lazy and didn't want to provide input.

3) Your "bf" was not listening to you. Were you telling your "bf" during a WOW scrimmage? Or during a solo in Guitar Hero? Maybe at the end of an episode of House.

Unless you asked about how they would interpret what happened to you based on your vague description, maybe they're just being diplomatic and really don't have an answer for you. Respect people who don't always agree with you and make you consider both sides of a situation. Your "bf" might just not be the type to be all like "OMG SRSLY wat a hor!" and be thankful for that. If you want phony answers, relate the story to Yahoo! Answers.

He thinks that you are leaving out some important, incriminating details on your part. I say that when I think a person is covering up a few things.
