I don't know because I have not been in that position. It would greatly depend on how much help and support my family would be likely to receive. If I could not expect a certain level of support, I wouldn't be able to do it. We have children at home who we are raising and I could not sacrifice their needs for the sake of one special needs child. If it were the choice between continuing to be a good mother to the children I have at home versus having to sacrifice what they need and the time I can spend with them, I would have to have an abortion. It would probably be the most difficult decision I've ever faced but that is the criteria I would have to use.

No, i'd love my baby no matter what.

The blood tests aren't always accurate, they have a higher rate of being wrong than being right, the ultrasound can be wrong too, only the amniocentesis is 99.9% correct, but even then i wouldn't get that test done because of what it involves, so since i refused all those tests i would never have to think about aborting or not aborting if my baby was high risk.

No. I chose not to have the tests run in the first place, because my husband and I wanted a baby...it didn't have to be a perfect child, we would have loved it regardless. Also...a friend of mine had the tests run, but chose not to know the answers. She found out when her daughter was 5 yrs old and perfectly healthy that the tests had shown her to be 99% likely to have Downs Syndrome. Just something to think about...they're tests, they're not God!

I think the temptation would be there but no I don't think I could.

I mean that baby is a blessing either way. And just because the baby has down syndrome is no reason to think that child isn't perfect.

As humans we all face temptation (and as humans we like to take the easy way out) but I feel I will just be lucky to get pregnant so I mean that baby is my baby and I couldn't just abort it

I believe abortion is wrong so even though I'd be tempted I don't think i could have an abortion

And there is always a chance the test is wrong as well and I'm not going to have the test done.

All babies are a gift from God. My opinion? My baby is MY baby. --I was a high risk due to my advanced age so they say (35) and that was my response. My original Dr wasn't pleased with my answer so I switched Dr's. btw...Most of the tests are not 100 percent accurate. The only one that is is an amnio.

    no

I have a special needs child with Autism and she is the light of my life

and also, sometimes those tests are wrong

I told the doctor I didnt want the test done b/c I didnt want to know cause if there's somthing wrong like downs syndrome, I didnt want to know until he's born.

No! I would bring my child into this world loving him or her and caring for her no matter what difficulties may come our way. Just because someone is going to have a child with a disablity does not give them a right to murder an unborn child.

NO! Why would I? My husbands brother has Down Syndrome and dlet me tell you something... he is just like everyone one of us. He is a human being with feelings, he can do things just like "normal" people can, and he's so sweet, loving, caring, and I wouldn't ask for a better brother in law. He's great and I love him. Just because people are born with Down Syndrome or any other disability doesn't mean they should be aborted or treated any different. This type of stuff makes me angry, people who think about aborting children for this type of reason. People should love and accept their kids no matter what they look like, no matter what disability they are born with, etc. Just because people are parents doesn't mean they should be!!
