Fellow Christians: How can a loved one be taken up in the Rapture if they are already in Heaven?

Hi, I would like some insight from other Christians on this. I was reading some scriptures last night and came across the verse that mentioned the Rapture. Ok, the first thing that came to mind is that most people believe that when a loved one passes on, their soul automatically goes to Heaven (assuming that they were good that is). But yet, the Bible says that those who died in Christ will be reserrected from their graves and then caught up in the air to meet him.

My question is, how could someone's soul be taken up in the Rapture if they are already in Heaven?

1 Thessalonians 4ch says that the dead in Christ will rise first, then the living will be changed in the twinkling of an eye from mortal to immortal and we will all go together to meet the Lord in the air. COME LORD JESUS, COME.

1 Thessalonians ch. 4:13 or around that says that Jesus brings back with him the souls of those who died in Christ and the living on earth will be

changed from mortal to immortal and go to be with the Lord.

    1 Thessalonians 4:14

13 But I do not want you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning those who have fallen asleep, lest you sorrow as others who have no hope. 14 For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so God will bring with Him those who sleep in Jesus.[a]

15 For this we say to you by the word of the Lord, that we who are alive and remain until the coming of the Lord will by no means precede those who are asleep.

the bible actually says that we will sleep until god descends and decides the fate of the earth and then wake us and take us and those left on earth up to heaven while allowing those that did not do the right thing one last chance of a hundred years to do so or their hell will be eternal sleep.

Rapture is a good story for modern christians but only a few christians believe this. And as usual all the wonderful and weird religions that have been born come from the U.S.A.

What is it about that country and religion? It has more evangelists and cults then I have seen in the middle east...............lol

Believe what you want but check your dates as to when the rapture was introduced into religion. It seems to make it easier for people to believe.

It is like making cough syrup that tastes nice. It is nasty stuff but you need it. Instead of putting your health first and just grin and bear it, you make it taste nice so it is changed and palettable to you.

Again I am glad I dont believe it must be difficult for christians to have so many choices as to who is the best one to believe in.

    read the scriptures again

1Th 4:13 But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope.

1Th 4:14 For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him.

when Jesus comes back he brings the souls of the dead in Christ Jesus with him.

What comes out of the grave is the physical body changed into a spiritual body which the soul enters and lives in for eternity.

1Th 4:16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:

the physical body is changed into a spiritual body

1Co 15:51 Behold, I show you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed,

1Co 15:52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.

1Co 15:53 For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.

the dead body shall be raised to a incorruptable body

this corruptible body must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.

Incorruptable means the body is changed and will not rot or degrade to ashes any more.

Kingly individual, You and the folk who have self belief this at the instant are not analyzing the comparable e book of Revelation that i'm. The numbers in Revelation are symbolic as is maximum of it particularly is writing so as that the Apostle John ought to get the message by the palms of the Roman guards on the Isle of Patmos the place he grow to be their captive. That message at last reached the church homes of Christ and amassed their ethical because it grow to be meant to do. CHRIST will comne and choose each and each human beings at a time that GOD has already chosen and we are able to be taken to the placement that HE makes a decision at that factor. we are able to be separated as sheep and goats and to HIS left or to HIS suitable. Have a spectacular weekend and an excellent LORD'S DAY!! thank you, Eds .

Their bodies are in the grave & their spirit & soul are in heaven

At the time of the rapture the dead in Christ will be reunited with their bodies and their bodies will be changed to what God calls a glorified body.

Those alive will be taken and transformed and their bodies will be glorified at that time

Source(s): 1Th 4:16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: 1Th 4:17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. 1Th 4:18 Wherefore comfort one another with these words. 1Co 15:51 Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep (die) but we shall all be changed, 1Co 15:52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. 1Co 15:53 For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.

their spirits do, but their bodies are left on earth. During the rapture, the bodies are supposed to be taken up as are those who have not yet left their bodies.

many of those that hold to the Rapture theory believe the soul sleeps until Christ's return.

Please read a new book by NT Wright, a GREAT New Testament scholar, titled "Surprised by Hope." He unravels all this and explains it well. You can get it at Barnes & Noble or Borders, or a big enough public library.

Christian dogma actually teaches that the dead rest until the second coming of Jesus. Then the dead shall rise first, blah blah.

All the talk about loved ones being in heaven is nothing but make-you-feel-better talk.

From what I've heard, no one actually goes to Heaven until Judgment Day...same with Hell.
