What does it mean when a website says it is a Beta website ?

What is it exactly and is it better or worse than one that is not a beta ?

Thanks

beta is a term used in computer programming that means that a program, or in this case website, is not complete. There may be bugs in it, and they are still testing it.

Beta is the testing stage. The info from your computer usually goes back to its place of origin so that the company can get most of the bugs of of the program before they put out the final version. Beta=in testing.

BETA is still in development, but can still be used.
