Field hockey beginner help?
I am trying out for field hockey next year. I have a basic idea of the whole sport but I am having a hard time finding a stick.
For my height I was suggested a 38 inch. But they seem impossible to find. I was also suggested a composite stick over one that is wood.
I am trying to find one big enough, and friendly for a beginner.

It is a great sport. I play twice every week. You don't need a fast mile or anything but of course it helps, main tips i would say are always hold the stick with both hands, always tell your teammates your going for the ball, always try and go for the ball, and slow down and concentrate when hitting, one slow accurate hit is better than a wild one. Oh and never let the ball touch your feet - thats a rule. You don't need a great stick or anything, i just play with an old wood one. Oh and another rule only use the flat side of your stick.
