It'll be too uncomfortable to you before it hurts your baby. So get the sleep in while you can. Here's a tip tho: once you start getting bigger though, you'll want to invest in a body pillow. It's a life saver for me!

Don't stress, you are not hurting your baby at all. Im also somebody who generally finds it more comfortable to sleep on my stomach. You can do so until it becomes uncomfortable, for me that was at about 18 or so weeks. After that it feels like there is a little hard ball under your stomach and you will no longer like lying down like that anymore. However I find that Im still comfortable if I lay chest on the bed with my lower half twisted to the side. It works for me but could be different for you!
Good luck and congrats

until your body can't take it anymore. You will know when it is time. For me it was right around 4 months for both of my previous pregnancies still sleeping on my stomach for this one (for now) if your shoulders hurt i would recommend a pregnancy pillow or softer mattress. I would recommend to never sleep on your back because it will cause you to have a hard time breathing and could lead to sleep apnea it can also harm the baby to sleep on your back. Hope this helps.

I love sleeping on my tummy but now fine it to uncomfy since being 18 weeks pregnant. Found some info for you hope this helps :)
Early in your pregnancy, try to get into the habit of sleeping on your side. Lying on your side with your knees bent is likely to be the most comfortable position as your pregnancy progresses. It also makes your heart's job easier because it keeps the baby's weight from applying pressure to the large vein (called the inferior vena cava) that carries blood back to the heart from your feet and legs.
Some doctors specifically recommend that pregnant women sleep on the left side. Because your liver is on the right side of your abdomen, lying on your left side helps keep the uterus off that large organ. Sleeping on the left side also improves circulation to the heart and allows for the best blood flow to the fetus, uterus, and kidneys. Ask what your doctor recommends — in most cases, lying on either side should do the trick and help take some pressure off your back.
But don't drive yourself crazy worrying that you might roll over onto your back during the night. Shifting positions is a natural part of sleeping that you can't control. Most likely, during the third trimester of your pregnancy, your body won't shift into the back-sleeping position anyway because it will be too uncomfortable.
If you do shift onto your back and the baby's weight presses on your inferior vena cava, the discomfort will probably wake you up. See what your doctor recommends about this; he or she may suggest that you use a pillow to keep yourself propped up on one side.
Try experimenting with pillows to discover a comfortable sleeping position. Some women find that it helps to place a pillow under their abdomen or between their legs. Also, using a bunched-up pillow or rolled-up blanket at the small of your back may help to relieve some pressure. In fact, you'll find that there are many "pregnancy pillows" on the market.
Hope this helps!

No it doesnt hurt the baby. The baby is very well protected in there. You can sleep on your stomach as long as you would like. It is completely safe. When you start to get bigger, it may get uncomfortable to sleep like that, thats when its time to stop. I slept on mine until i was about 20 weeks.

What I have heard, is that you can sleep on your stomach until it gets uncomfortable. I love to sleep on my stomach too, I am 12 weeks and I still do and everything is fine with my baby :) Good Luck!

hello i just found this for you on the following website
http://www.babycenter.com/406_is-it-safe-to-sleep-...
Russell Turk, obstetrician
While sleeping on your side (especially the left side) is most commonly recommended, you can also sleep safely on your stomach. The issue of sleep safety during pregnancy generally focuses on optimal blood flow and nutrient supply to the placenta and the fetus. A main concern is the weight of your enlarging uterus pushing down directly on the large veins that return blood to your heart. The most notable effects occur when women lie flat on their back. If you experience such problems as shortness of breath or heartburn, especially in the third trimester, propping yourself up with pillows may be helpful. Remember: Comfort is important, too!
Catherine Lynch, ob-gyn, director of the division of general obstetrics and gynecology, University of South Florida, Tampa
There's no problem lying on your stomach in early pregnancy. At this point, your uterus is still nestled behind your pubic bone, so it's totally protected. Later in your pregnancy, sleeping on your stomach just isn't going to be comfortable. You'd be too uncomfortable to want to do it long before you could ever hurt your baby.
hope this helps!!! i personally am 28 weeks and would find it impossible to sleep on tummy my midwife tells me sleeping on left side is the best as encourages blood flow to baby!!

they advise not after 24 weeks because the belly really starts to grow.
Best is get a lot of pillows the bigger you grow the more uncomfortable it starts to get.
Baby is very well protected, best is on left side to help and ease the blood flow from mum to baby
God bless x

you'll know because when you turn on your stomach it will feel like a balloon inside you getting ready to pop. no worries though, you wont harm the baby it just feels that way
