If I'm so stupid, why are you trying to recruit me?

Actually, this one works for both religion and politics - I always find myself thinking this in November....

If my political or religious view is counter to yours, and you clearly express to me that you think my view is stupid, aren't you then implying that I'm stupid? And if I'm stupid, why do you want me in your political party or religion?

I understand that in the case of religion, often conversion attempts are prompted by a genuine concern for the hereafter welfare of the individual (obviously atheists don't try and convert this way... :-D), but forcing your views down the throat of another NEVER works.

Shouldn't our energy focus more on knowing why we support a particular candidate (deeper than "she's a woman" or "he's a [insert appropriate political party]) and actually LIVING your faith (if you have one, that is) so that when someone is searching, they can look at your life and see what you believe and then ask about it.
