Laws on drinking on camp sites with a campervan?

Was asked recently if I knew if it was ok to be pitched on a camp site in a camper van and still have a drink. They were not planning on going anywhere after drinking, but obviously would still have the vehicle keys and wondered where they stood (or should that be staggered?)

Update:

If you are in your car, drunk, with your keys, even if only top sleep it off, you can be arrested for DD, does the same apply?

It is quite legal to drink while on site with your campervan, fortunately, as in my younger days I did this on numerous occasions. Provided, of course, that you do not intend to drive afterwards, even on the roads of the campsite. However, if as a result of your drinking, you become a nuisance to fellow campers, they are likely to complain and you will probably be asked to leave the site.

I assume the drink driving law mean what it says - that you can´t drive while you are drunk. In the UK I think it´s fine to drink in a camper van as long as you don´t drive it. Also, on a campsite you´re not on a public road. If you have a doubt, pop into a police station and ask.
