I have one question about connecting cable TV in my house?
Is it true that is illegal to connect cable TV in all 6 rooms of my house???
This guy from comcast came to my house and cut the cables in the attic that connects to 4 of the rooms of my house and only left 2 connected for the cable box. . . .i asked him why he did that and he told me that connecting cables to TVs without cable boxes was illegal. . . thanks fir anyone who responds.. . . .

Its not against the law, but it will screw up your boxes. It has to be splittered a certain way for them to work. You may not have enough signal going to your house to operate all your outlets. I work for a different company than comcast, but we guarantee 4 rooms will work, under most cercumstances. Dont mess with your wiring, the cost of having them come back out and fix a problem you created will be high. But it does sound like the tech gave you a bogus excuse, just to get out of there probably.

It is not illegal to have cable connecting to your TVs, provided that they are all within a single household and you are paying for the service, and you should call to complain and have them re-wire the rooms they disconnected.
It is possible that comcast in your area does not offer analog service, and as such, there would be no point in having those wires (since a cable box would be required for each TV). Even so, there's no reason why you shouldn't be able to move your cable box to a different room should you decide to.

Well that's odd. Some cable companies (and I could see comcast being this way because they are a pretty awful company) say it's against their TOS to connect any tv's without them doing it, because they actually tag on an extra charge to do so to your monthly bill. I would just reconnect it. Next time don't let them in your house, they aren't the police.
Seriously, everyone splits their cable signal a billion different ways, I can't see how as long as it's all in the same household it's actually against any real law, and not something comcast just made up as TOS.

Yes, it is illegal if you do the connection yourself. It's just another way for the cable company to make money on you. Connecting 4 extra cable to the same box means they get to charge you for cable and labor, cable will probobly cost you 4 times what you pay and another $50 or so per hour of labor. If you do the connection don't tell them. I have made other connections in my house and didn't tell them. If you have to get them out to your house disconnect it before they arrive and hook it back after they leave.

That's wrong and idiotic. Leave it to a cable guy not to know his own rules. I hope you got his name as he's probably a private contractor and doesn't work for comcast directly.
Call up Comcast, they'll be very interested to hear that this guy's cutting cables on them.
You know what the real gimmick is right? He did it hoping you wouldn't figure it out until he left so he'd get to come back and charge comcast for another service call. (I know they're free to you but they're not free for comcast.)

He is full of BS you are paying for basic cable so you can have them connected. Call the company and complain and have them send someone to reconnct

Short answer from a Comcast Comm Tech 3...
No, you can do what ever you wise with YOUR HOUSE and YOUR WIRES.
I have had customers with 3 outlets in each room, just in CASE they want to rearrange the house! lol.
He was just spouting non-sense.
Now, we do have to charge to install extra outlets.

No not dangerous it is carrying radio/tv signals which pass through your body all the time.
