Sure. I remember the USFL (Reggie White, Herschel Walker, the Michigan Panthers!), the XFL (only watched one game, but still), and the original World League of American Football -- the one with teams like the Raleigh-Durham Skyhawks, the Montreal Machine, and the Barcelona Dragons. And then, of course, there's arena football.

I'm a little too young to remember the AFL, though. I was born a year after the merger.

    I remember both.

In NJ they have the Generals played at Giants Stadium. It was spring football. WEnt to a few games. I was also a volunteer for Make a wish and met lots of the Generals on the off season. Actually played softball with the guys for a fund raiser. It was special to me.

    X. remember it on TV but it did not do well, no ratings and was done in a year. THey did not have a kick off. It was called a scramble. The ball was at the 50 and two players would race from 10 yards back to controll the balll.

that was more exciting that a kick.

I remember these leagues. I also remember the WFL(World Football League) that played in 1974-75 season. They created a few rules later adopted by the NFL such as kickoffs from the 30 yard line, returning missed field goals to the line of scrimmage and moving goal posts to the back of the end zone.

That was the 80s, the league is way too dominant now for that.

XFL was a joke. The football is a family sport or a sport you watch in your living room in america. they were trying to attract a demographic of older teens and young adults for "extreme" football. pornstar cheerleaders, violent coin tosses, etc etc (LOL).

The NFL has a very rich history and many battles. It will take a patient company to rival it.

The XFL sucked big time. The USFL was great to watch, too bad greedy Donald T. ruined it.
