There is nothing to hate about Jacob, he is a really important part of Bella's life.

I think people don't like him because Edward leaves Bella, and he doesn't return until the end of the book, during which time Jacob becomes her best friend. People were so used to Bella and Edward. Not Bella and Jacob. They may have also seen it like Jake was "stealing" Bella away from Edward. When fans saw Edward and Bella's relationship grow throughout the course of the entire first book, it was kind of a shock to see someone completely different step in and take over.

We learned in the first book how polite, and protective, and handsome, and all that Edward is portrayed as, and it's kind of like a fairytale. People want their fairytale ending with the one guy that means the most to them. Those who are angry with Jacob are those who don't want Bella to fall for him. It's almost a rule that she has to be happy with Edward; it's just how some people think.

See i am a team Edward fan but i see the point of why people like Jacob. I agree with the fact Bella would be dead if it wasnt for him. I think people hate him because he is not a vampire or that they dont understand him as well as Edward. "Person reads Twilight. Person loves Edward. Person read New Moon. Edward leaves. Person goes into shock and rushes through the book to find Edward again (in other words, they don't take the time to enjoy the scenes with Jacob and understand his character). Person starts Eclipse without understanding Jake's character. Because of that, they think he's a jerk. When he's anything BUT a jerk."- Stephenie Meyer. i agree with her. Many people just skim/ lightly read New Moon to see when Edward gets back but i think everyone should go back and read it again and get to know Jacob.

Most people prolly don't like Jacob, because he kinda wants and can kill Edward. But actually i guess i wouldn't know much cause i just finished New Moon. and yeah bella without jacob would have been HORRIBLE! But i hate to disagree with you, but i'm on and always will be on TEAM EDWARD, I RUN WITH THE VAMPIRES! Can't wait til New Moon the movie comes out! the previews look pretty good.

Many girls just think Edward is the perfect guy. I mean Jacob is hot too. If he cut his hair his face is like so... words can't describe it.

I think it is simply because edward is the hot sparkly vampire and jacob is the freak who turns into a wolf to most people. i personally think jacob is A LOT better than edward but that's just me. i think another reason they hate him is that, admittingly, he is quite childish.
