How could Noah's ark save 30 million species?
The diversity of life on earth is staggering: Several million species of animals, plants, fungi, and microorganisms have been discovered already and up to 30 million are estimated to live on earth. Among these are millions of insects, 45,000 vertebrates, 300,000 plant species, and more than 1 million species of fungi, not counting microorganisms and bacteria.
According to the bible, with the biblical flood God intended to kill all life on earth except what was saved in Noah's ark. With the flood covering the highest mountains (Mt. Everest is almost 9 km high) and lasting for 300 days, God would have succeeded to kill all terrestrial vegetation and animals. Fish and other marine life would have had little problems except if the flood water was from rain, it would have caused a decrease in salt content in the oceans. So we can safely assume that most life on earth must have been destroyed by the flood (which is claimed to have been global and must have been if God intended to kill all life).
So how is it possible that we now have so many species on earth, after the flood? If there is no evolution, and God created all of these, then the only explanation is that representatives of all of these where aboard the Ark. If we assume 30 million species, how did Noah get all these aboard? It must have taken him many years to find all these traveling around the globe BEFORE the flood happened. Also, if it took just 1 minute for each couple to get on board, the whole process of boarding would have taken almost 60 years, if just 1 second per pair then still almost one year (and the flood lasted less!). It also does not explain how all these species survived on the boat. The food for the herbivores alone would have been a logistic nightmare. And most insects have very short lifespans and require specific food and would not have survived the trip.
So how can the discrepancy between the biblical flood story and the fact that we have 30 million species on earth be explained? I know, because we should not take the bible literally on this, but if not, then why take the whole Book of Genesis and creation literally?

Over 95% of all animal species are the invertebrates, fish, and and few aquatic mammals and reptiles that could survive in the water during the Flood. That leaves fewer than 30,000 extant species of mammals, birds, reptiles, and possibly land-reproducing amphibians to be represented on the Ark. Because the Ark could only hold roughly 30,000 animals total, that leave about 15,000 species accounted for (2 of every kind). The process of speciation need to only double the number of animal species from 15,000 to 30,000. Speciation is not necessarily classified as evolution since evolution requires large-scale changes that produce one kind of organism from another kind, and speciation can still result in two different "species" from a single species that can actually still reproduce. There are many examples of different "species" that can interbreed and produce offspring capable of reproducing. All that is needed to produce 30,000 species from 15,000 species is the genetic potential of each kind of animal and the freedom from genetic equilibrium, combined with mutations, that would allow the appearance of many different species from the few animals on the Ark. Genetic potential is the amount of variation that a kind or type of organism can produce from the genetic material already present. The only real requirement for the classification of species is reproductive isolation. This does not mean two species can't reproduce, only that they won't.

Finally someone who has the same point as me! There is no possible way that a population of 30K species would just simultaniously multilply by 50! This would quite obviously take time to do, just as anything else in the world. I know that God works wonders, but it seems unrealistic to think that this could have happened without alterations, mutations, adaptations, and eventually whole new branches of animals being formed. My point is, the present could not be how it is today without the past, but the past was nothing alike now mostly because things hadn't had a chance to EVOLVE yet. I am Christian, but I believe that Evolution has obvious validity to it. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to comprhehend the theory effectively. If we did evolve from apes, which is a possibility, then I don't have a problem with that. We are the "head" subspecies in a world teaming with wild-life... Why should be be so pissed off or ashamed about being distantly related to one of the most inteligent animals in the WORLD? Faith isn't only religion, it's a dire accesory to the planet we live on, and the things that we do and say every single day.

Not every species in the world was on the ark. Aquatic and marine creatures survived on their own, and the millions of insect species also were able to survive the flood. Because of their small size, they could float on the massive amount of debris that must have existed. The size of the ark was 1,500,000 cubic feet of free space. The number of distinct animal kinds on the ark was around 16,000-25,000. It is estimated that the ark could hold 125,000 animals if each one was the average size of a sheep. If many of the animals were young babies, the number would be higher. Microscopic organisms would have survived without the ark. As far as loading the animals, the bible says they went in, possibly by instinct. Many animals have migration instincts, so it could have been similar to that. They wouldn't necessarily get on board one at a time. So logistically, the story is not impossible.

Genesis chapter 1 says that God created each "according to its kind." (Gen 1:12,21,24,25) In preparation for the Flood of Noah's day, God directed that representative members of each "kind" of land animal and flying creature be taken into the ark. (Gen 7:2,3,14) Each "kind" has the genetic potential for great variety. eg. there are reportedly more than 400 different breeds of dogs and up to 250 breeds and types of horses. All interfertile varieties of any animal are just one Genesis "kind."
What is interesting is that all cultures, even aborigines, native american indians, etc, acknowledge that the earth was covered in a flood. Even non-christian cultures have this belief.
When you look at how amazing the universe is and study the detail of all it's living creatures, it has to have been created by God. If God can create all of this, it would not be hard for him to have the earth back to the way it was before the flood.
I have seen photos of a scale model of the ark recreated, it is quite amazing and you could see how it was done, and that it would not have taken that long to load up. If you are interested i could try and find the photos for you.

Well first we have so many animals now because they were Male and Female pairs and I Hope you can figure the rest from that. But keep in mind that the bible says at Ecclesiastes 1:9,10 "That which has come to be, that is what will come to be; and that which has been done, that is what will be done; and so there is nothing new under the sun. Does anything exist of which one may say: “See this; it is new”? It has already had existence for time indefinite; what has come into existence is from time prior to us".
So they were already here they didn't just pop up.
The passenger list of the ark was quite impressive. Besides Noah, his wife, his three sons, and their wives, living creatures “of every sort of flesh, two of each,” were to be taken aboard. “Male and female they will be. Of the flying creatures according to their kinds and of the domestic animals according to their kinds, of all moving animals of the ground according to their kinds, two of each will go in there to you to preserve them alive.” Of the clean beasts and fowls, seven of each kind were to be taken. A great quantity and variety of food for all these creatures, to last for more than a year, also had to be stowed away.—Ge 6:18-21; 7:2, 3.
The “kinds” of animals selected had reference to the clear-cut and unalterable boundaries or limits set by the Creator, within which boundaries creatures are capable of breeding “according to their kinds.” It has been estimated by some that the hundreds of thousands of species of animals today could be reduced to a comparatively few family “kinds”—the horse kind and the cow kind, to mention but two. The breeding boundaries according to “kind” established by Jehovah were not and could not be crossed. With this in mind some investigators have said that, had there been as few as 43 “kinds” of mammals, 74 “kinds” of birds, and 10 “kinds” of reptiles in the ark, they could have produced the variety of species known today. Others have been more liberal in estimating that 72 “kinds” of quadrupeds and less than 200 bird “kinds” were all that were required. That the great variety of animal life known today could have come from inbreeding within so few “kinds” following the Flood is proved by the endless variety of humankind—short, tall, fat, thin, with countless variations in the color of hair, eyes, and skin—all of whom sprang from the one family of Noah.
These estimates may seem too restrictive to some, especially since such sources as The Encyclopedia Americana indicate that there are upwards of 1,300,000 species of animals. (1977, Vol. 1, pp. 859-873) However, over 60 percent of these are insects. Breaking these figures down further, of the 24,000 amphibians, reptiles, birds, and mammals, 10,000 are birds, 9,000 are reptiles and amphibians, many of which could have survived outside the ark, and only 5,000 are mammals, including whales and porpoises, which would have also remained outside the ark. Other researchers estimate that there are only about 290 species of land mammals larger than sheep and about 1,360 smaller than rats. (The Deluge Story in Stone, by B. C. Nelson, 1949, p. 156; The Flood in the Light of the Bible, Geology, and Archaeology, by A. M. Rehwinkel, 1957, p. 69)
So, even if estimates are based on these expanded figures, the ark could easily have accommodated a pair of all these animals.

You may find this information from the book Insight on the Scriptures enlightening:

That estimate could even be conservative.
Some scientists believe there could be up to 100 million species.
So, in conclusion, noah's ark is a fable, a myth of epic proportions. Anyone who thinks that it's real should be slapped for being so painfully stupid.

Noah wasn't stupid. He built the ark in four dimensions, thus it had plenty of room for all.
