Can I put two hard-drives in a dell inspiron 1521 laptop?

I bought this laptop two years ago, and made sure I spent money on all of the upgrades, lots of ram, processing, etc, but I made the mistake of not paying for a large hard-drive, now I am running out of room. I am always uninstalling programs to make room for a new one, and now I am to the point where I can not uninstall any other programs.

Update:

Ok since I can't put two in, is it possible to transfer my programs to the new one if I upgrade. I have several single install programs that I can not uninstall and reinstall.

Update 2:

I already keep all of my personal files on an external drive or flashdrive, except for the ones I am currently working on. Once I am done with them, I put them on my external. The problem is I run very heavy programs, and they have eatten up all of the hard-drive space on my computer, and i need to install more. For example one program I run, ArcGIS and the community Viz extensions take up 7 GB. THe visual basic program I use, takes up another 1 GB, as you can image this adds up pretty quickly.

You won't be able to install the drive directly, but You CAN add the drive as an external without any trouble at all.

You simply need a USB to IDE cable that handles a 2.5" hard drive connector. Theyrun about $8.00-$20.00, or You can buy just an external casing for it that plugs into a USB port for the same roughly $20.00.

I highly recommend www.geeks.com for a $9.00 cable that comes with a power supply, and it will also allow You to connect any 3.5" (desktop system - cheaper and more gigs) drive too.

Once You connect the drive, You can actually keep all the FILES You work with installled on it, and run all the programs You use from the main (C:) drive.

You may even want to look into 2gig flashdrive for carrying any personal files so you can use the created files on a daily basis without carrying the external hard drive around.

    Good Luck!.

You cannot put two internal drives in the laptop. You cna buy an external drive and use it as the second HDD or upgrade the HDD in the laptop for a bigger size. Ask DELL what the MAX size HDD you can put in is.

It's just gonna be a normal laptop hard drive, they are made by loads of different manufacturers, but all fit into the same slots. You can get them from any computer hardware store eg. Maplins

You can not fit more than one hard drive in any laptop. There is no room, and only one possible connection point.
