May - French Presidential election (if the incumbent's term had normally finished in May).

June 9–July 1 — 2012 European Football Championship will be played in Poland/Ukraine.

July 1 — Presidential Elections in Mexico.

July 27 — Opening ceremony of the 2012 Summer Olympics begins in London at 7:30 pm UTC, 8:30pm BST.[4]

August 12 — Closing ceremony of the 2012 Summer Olympics in London, United Kingdom, a Sunday.

August 29 — Start of the 2012 Summer Paralympics

September 9 — End of the 2012 Summer Paralympics

A lot of stupid explanations why the world didn't end will be invented, the 2012 frauds will invent a new date for the end of the world, and their stupid followers will ignore the failure and believe in it again.

Probably nothing.

One of several Mayan calendars is the Long Count calendar, which is reset to day 0 every 1,872,000 days or 7057.5 years. The next reset date, by some calculations, is December 21, 2012. This is not a prediction of the end of the world.

These predictions are scare tactics, conspiracy theories, and chances to make money from books and movies.

Ever since the Y2K and 6/6/6 (June 6, 2006) End of the World scenarios did not pan out, the scare mongers, conspiracy theorists, book sellers, and television executives have been touting the 2012 End of the World scenario. When 2012 does not happen either, I am sure they will think of something else.

Jesus told us in no uncertain terms that we were not to know when the end of the world would come but that we were always to be ready.

The early Christian Church thought that Jesus was going to return at any moment. Only after a couple of centuries did the Church realize that it may be 2,000 or 4,000 or 8,000 years before Jesus returns.

The Catholic Church wisely follows Jesus' advice and teaches that each of us should live as if we will meet our maker in the next ten minutes and that we need to work to make the world a better place for our 100 X great-grandchildren.

Do not worry about the end of the world. Trust God to make sure everything happens to plan. Just be ready to meet God at any time.

The Mayan Calendar makes NO doomsday CLAIMS because 2012 is merely the end of a cycle. For the ancient Maya it was a huge celebration to make it to the end of a whole cycle. To render December 21, 2012, as a doomsday or moment of cosmic shifting is a complete fabrication and a chance for a lot of people to cash in.

People who promote 2012 are doing so to sell books and advertising on their doomsday shows. After each "predicted" doomsday passes with nothing happening there is a new one invented. I have watched the 2012 Doomsday program on the History (Hysteria) Channel. The content isn’t about any real 2012 event happening and it isn’t about history. It is about selling books and selling advertising on the TV programs.

There is no scientific theory that anything unusual is going to happen in 2012. ZERO scientists believe that anything out of the ordinary will happen in 2012. It is all total CRAP. These people are interested in one thing - MONEY. And by listening to their programs and/or buying their books you provide them with - MONEY. The more MONEY they make the more twists and turns they invent to make it more interesting so you will listen to new TV programs so they can make even MORE MONEY.

If you had hogwash to sell wouldn’t you try and package it so looked like prime rib? That is just what these shysters are doing… selling to those who will listen – HOGWASH. Drink deep!!! They need MORE MONEY. They need YOUR MONEY.

This theory came from the mayan calender and it ends in 2012, that doesnt mean anything! are u actually gunna beleive the people who thot human sacrifice would bring the sun up everyday? ya i think NOT.

This day could be a good day why is it that its gunna end? it means nothing ppl have been guessign for years yeah like in the 70s the world was to "end" obviously not. no ne can predict things. things just happen and when that day comes it comes but we will not know "the future" i sure as hell am not guinna follow thru a bunch of idiot who thot killing human being would make the "sun god" come up. And if they didnt the sun wouldnt obviously thats not the case.
