German Rams and Black Ghost?

I'm cycling a tank for my German Blues..I used to keep the Germans upstairs But I'm moving them to the Living Room. The breeder I buy from said the GB can live comfortably with a Black knife and a krib cichlid.

My concern is the black ghost...is it risky?

Update:

I have 3 baby Kribs...I dont know were to house them. They are now in infant tank, growing fast and attacking all ...My plan was to put one in three different tanks to keep the ruckus down

My concern would be both. With Kribensis being another cichlid, you may encounter problems there in anything smaller than a 55/75 gallon. The black ghost can get large enough to pose a threat to the rams, though I'd say ADULT, as in 2.5 inch, rams may be okay with a black ghost knife. These knives can get to 18+ inches, but have relatively small mouths. A much safer option would be a brown ghost knifefish. They stay around 10", and will pose no threat at all.

I'm not quite sure what you mean with the Kribensis situation. You mean you have three, of which you will be placing one into each of three different tanks? If you will be placing ONE of these in with the rams, do your best to ensure that it is a female, and you may be alright. Only if you have no other options.

We have bolivian rams with our ghost knife and many others. No problem at all. The only thing in the tank the ghost knife bothers is the snails. I'm sure he'd like to eat them, and one of these days he may get lucky!
