Does anyone know how to cook these shrimp...?
I just bought some fresh shrimp and want to fry them tomorrow night.
At the chinese restaurant, they serve a fried shrimp with shell on and little bits of jalapenos mixed in. The shells seem slightly crunchy like they were tossed with a flour or something.
I want to duplicate the recipe - can anyone tell me how? I think it is fried in butter - but not sure at all. Very yummy!!! Thanks in advance - I will make sure to award best answer!
The chinese restaurant is in south east Arkansas, so possibly a regional thing? But surely someone knows

Frying in butter is one thing, frying in extra virgin olive oil is another in my opinion. In the past I've taken the shrimp, shell on...minus the legs...rolled in a mixture of flour with lemon and pepper seasoning. The olive oil just gave it that extra "kick"...maybe its just me... as far as duplicating the recipe for what you had, sorry, don't know.

That will work but if you add angel hair pasta instead of bow tie pasta it will be more like a shrimp scampi pasta. Melt your butter and olive oil together. Then add fresh minced garlic and raw (or in your case cooked) shrimp to the sauce. Once the shrimp is cooked (or warmed through) turn the heat off and add 2 tablespoons of fresh lemon juice and 1/4 cup of heavy cream (optional) stir to warm through and then toss with your angel hair pasta. This will work with bowtie pasta if you want. Umm sounds good. Great idea.
