Difference between downloading and burning a CD?

I have some data files that I want to share with others.

My computer gives me the option of burning it to a CD, or I can just export it to the D drive, and write it on the CD.

What is the difference????

Update:

Does burning the CD use computer memory?

There is none. When your computer is giving you the option to burn a CD, it's exporting it for you, so you don't have to.

Every task uses up memory (RAM), but burning a disc will not take up more disk space (but the files you burn will still remain on the PC).

Easy way out just burn your file(s) to C.D, whilst burning to c.d your computer does use a little memory.....hope this helps
