NEED Computer help please 10 points?
I'm going to be going to my friends house to fix his laptop which is unusable because he has viruses and malware on it. He already has Mcafee on it but I'm going to scan it with Avira rescue disk, Malwarebytes and Superantispyware, and Avira, can Mcafee run with those programs or do I need to disable Mcafee until I'm finished cleaning out the laptop? If I need to disable Mcafee how would I? Please help.

Scott...
It really would be better to uninstall the McAfee while doing all of the other scans just because the signatures that McAfee has stored in it's program files might fool the other products into thinking they are malware and making very difficult to get anything done...
If by chance you don't have the installation disk for McAfee, it's OK as long as you copy down the product licensing key code. You can always download it and put in the code afterwords...
As far as the Avira Rescue disk, it will run before McAfee loads up so that part should be fine... it's just the signatures that may give you trouble...
GOOD LUCK !!!

I believe you may have to uninstall the McAfee completely first before you run other AV or spyware/trojans removers. Multiple AV programs can conflict with each other.
I think the McAfee he has is useless anyway since it could not catch the virus or trojans.
Go to Start-Control Panel - Add/Remove Programs (Make sure you're in Classic View) to remove McAfee. Restart the computer before installing Avira, Malwarebytes or Superantispyware.
I personally like Avira / MB combo. They work great.

Every anti virus software uses a lot of system memory, so, either they conflict or not, it is best to execute only one of them in order to preserve system resource. I recommend you disable mcafee first, locate the mcafee trat icon on the system tray and right click on it, here you will find options to pause the providers (not sure with the exact menu structure now, because i recently use Avast!).
