What is the best PSI setting for an air compressor while filling car tires?
I just bought a Bostitch Air Compressor (6 gallon) that goes up to a max of 150 PSI. What should I set it at to fill up car tires?
My question is for the PSI of the compressor not the recommended tire psi.

Just let it run, and fill your tires to recommended pressures. The higher the air pressure in the compressor, the faster it will air the tire up.

They limit the pressure you can put in the tires to keep idiots like yourself from blowing their faces off when the tire explodes. There is a sticker in your drivers door or door post with the recommended pressures listed [most likely around 28-32 psi . Your unnamed car does not take 52psi. They are not too lazy. You are too lazy to read the owners manual or even identify the car in your question. you have probably ruined the tires. Run along.

Greater than 40 PSI.
Generally for car tires the PSI is somewhere between 30psi-40psi.
You can leave it at 150 psi, it is just going to fill the tire up extremly quick. Just to it quickly and make sure all 4 tires are the same PSI for treadwear

You should always fill to the recommended manufacturer tire pressure. You can find this out on the driver's door jamb. There should be s ticker there with the info you need. The recommended tire pressure is not the same for every car out there.

just turn it on and fill your tires to the recommended pressure that you check with a tire pressure gauge and when your done turn the compressor off.
