mac Vs PC, which is better?
What is your honest opinion. I am looking at buying a new computer, yet every Mac User i speak to says that Mac's are the best thing under the sun. What i have noticed about mac's is they always try and go against the market by doing things like not putting USB into there computers, or not putting MMS on there iphone (because they think they can make everyone use firewire, or email instead of MMS). I don't want to buy a mac which doesn't although most mac users say they do everything, yet at the end of the day can't do everyday tasks.

Well, it depends on what kind of PC you are talking about if you want to compare. If you're comparing Dell to Mac, I say Mac because Dell is probably the worst kind of PC out there. Computers like HP or Acer, however, are very good and I wouldn't go for Mac if comparing them. Also, it depends on what operating system you're comparing. If you're comparing Vista to Leopard, I would go with Vista; but keep in mind that Vista comes in 6 different versions (Ultimate being the best). Now here's something interesting, Safari, iTunes, and Quicktime can be downloaded on to PC! There's so much more I could say about PC, but I don't want to make this answer too long. Over all, I would go with PC.

I'd recommend Mac overall, except, like Jhon S said, the case of playing games that utilize alot of system resources.
Next, at the time of writing, all new Macs (as well as some "older" macs) come with USB ports. Actually, we have an old Mac G3 Yosemite desktop, and it even has them.
Now, you mentioned "everyday tasks". Mac OS should be able to do the following:
With Openoffice (free) or MS Word (commercial), create business documents;
Download music commercially, as well as play songs from CD, hard disk, etc... (there might be a restriction/setback on what it can play, though, in respect to file types. This is true for virtually all operating systems, though.);
Open image files with common formats. For example, PDF images and JPEG images;
Surf the internet. If you don't like using Safari for browsing, then you can use another browser. I know of that Opera and Firefox work with Mac.
One thing is that Mac OS doesn't seem to come with a good equivalent to Microsoft's Paint program. However, there are some third-party image editors (which may or may not be as good as Paint, depending on the situation). To name a few GIMP, and also Draw, which comes with OpenOffice.
Finally, all new Macs with Intel processors can run Windows (and/or Linux. Linux may be a bit more hard) using Apple's Boot Camp. (Boot camp sets it up so that you can load Mac or Windows, but not both at the same time.) So, you could have all of your computing needs in one computer (with limitations on hardware. For example, hard drive space for two operating systems and the files programs for them.) Also, there is the option of using software like VirtualBox (free), Parallels or VMware (both commercial) and run another OS inside Mac OS X (this method will run the Mac and other operating system(s) at the same time, but may be hard on system resources).

For me, I'd prefer a PC running Windows Vista because they are more practical to use. I'm a Computer Engineering Student and I use Vista all throughout my program. It turned out to be a reliable and efficient operating system. I love PC from the very day I bought it. It may not be fast than a Mac but that's because I installed many programs that are vital to my Computer Engineering program. Of course, I installed several games such as World of Warcraft but the perofmrance of the computer is still in good shape. My PC could boot in less than a minute; 50 seconds to be exact but who cares. All that matters to me is that Windows Vista is working just fine.
Many people have also proposed to me to get a Mac but I never did. They have Macs but I discovered they barely even use all of the features. They only use it for reading their emails and doing some office work. There's no practical usage. I had no regrets when I purchase my PC with Vista. It has helped me a lot for the past several years until I reached my sophomore years.
Overall, PCs are much better especially with Windows OS. They may not be as sexy as Macs, but at least you can find some practical use for them.

a million. first of all your premise is incorrect. pc's do no longer comprise be conscious, powerpoint and excel.. in case you fortunate they comprise works. you may desire to function MS workplace to a working laptop or pc in basic terms like for a MAC. 2. would not somewhat rely. Safari is being released for homestead windows. Its slightly buggy suitable now, yet i'm advantageous that is going to develop. Firefox and Opera is available for the two. i do no longer think of IE runs on mac. i might say this might desire to rely on your determination technique. 3You can run Bootcamp or Parallels on a mac and run each and all of the pc belongings you prefer. AFAIK there is not any utility to allow you run MAC utility on pc. 4. video games are the only section the Mac loosed vast time to the pc. sure there are video games for the Mac, yet a great form of the video games are released for the pc. So if gaming is your hobby your could be greater useful off with a working laptop or pc. 5. pc's hands down. 6. niether. It somewhat comes right down to what you prefer to do. For person-friendly pc want which comprise be conscious processing, digital mail, cyber web the two will do the activity. so which you maximum suitable seem at what you prefer to do and what utility is available on the two platform. With the record you gave on the tip, get the macbook. looks like thats what you prefer, and you may desire to be waiting to do each and every thing you record. Disclaimer: in my opinion i'm a working laptop or pc guy, i admire Linux, and the MAC is okay, yet i do no longer think of i might ever very own one..

well as for PC your not always paying out the butt for a computer. Vista isn't all bad its done a better job at keeping out baddies out of the system than xp. Though I would think of it like this: Windows would also work well in an office environment but Mac is great at home.
I use Linux half the time :D but I've had many an operating system and never really had problems with any of em. Unless your like a buddy of mine who downloads way too much (including porno) and gets virsus/malware/adware/spyware/rootkits like STD from a hooker.

MAC is made simple for someone generally computer illiterate and rages too hard at their PC for not preventing them from installing several viruses.
Only thing i see a mac has over pc is it apparently gets no viruses. Most likely from its lack of control it gives you, in most cases this is a good thing. In my opinion PC rulz. Honestly thogh, iv used a mac only at schools which have em and i find them really anooying, So many simple problems that can be fixed. And iv never googled mac ect, but im not sure you can even upgrade them Oo

i think it sounds like you answered your own question.
personally, i loved my mac. i think its way better than a pc. i had it for a long time until my ex boyfriend broke it. if i had had the money to get another mac, i would have. i don't have many issues with my pc, so i can't complain too much. i think you should do more research. maybe talk to an technology professor and get more insight. you'll make the right decision for you.

A PC would be your best bang for the buck. If you're worried about Vista, Windows 7 will be out soon and it's better. Also you can set up a dual boot with Ubuntu Linux and be pretty much virus free. Also Linux has access to thousands of free programs.
