missed out on first year at open university?

i missed out on giving the first year English honors exam because i was abroad in the united states for my career purpose

now when i came back i was deemed failed by the letter from the university and now i want to know

waht am i supposed to do the letter didnt mention any further instructions as to what next to do

am i expelled from the university of do i have to give a fresh attempt for the first year??

and is there any official site for it to get the correct information??

    Didn't you call the OU when you knew you'd be away for those exams and ask what to do? Well if you didn't, do so now. I don't know the OU's policy on this, but you'll probably be able to retake it, or you may have to take another course instead.

    You're just going to have to contact the university and see what they think. They're a little different from traditional unis, so don't give up hope. These sites give details on how you can contact the OU:

    As they were your First Year exams and you didn't appear, it will be termed as FAIL. But it is considered as year drop where you cannot attend college but give exams for the year failed and continue next year with college. but your college will end 1 year after expected. (This is the case in 90% Universities). Rest if you can supply the name of the university. More information can be provided. Else go to your college and talk to the principle about the letter. She will be able to guide you better.
