Can you justify the torture of human beings from anything Jesus taught?
Not Paul or others, but from words attributed to Jesus.
2nd in command: Because I asked it that way, that is the question I want answered.
Shen: I am a minister, professor and have a PhD in Religion, I know the Gospels. there is a point to my question, think about it, OK?
2nd in command: Yes, you make a good point, unfortunately very horrible things are often carried out in the name of religion.

Are you saying torture is wrong because it's not condoned by Jesus?
Correct, although via correlation based on that logic.
Good enough, though.

No, not sure what would even make you wonder this. Are you familiar with forgiveness and turning the other cheek? Judgment and punishment belong in the hands of God. I recommend you read the gospels to find the answers you are looking for. Some Bibles even help you out by putting the words of Jesus in a special color. =)
*Edit: If there is some other point you are not expressing, could you state it plainly. I obviously don't get it. =)

Did he teach torture? I don't know where it would be in the bible. Paul persecuted Christians until the Holy Spirit revealed the truth of the gospel to him, then he changed. Christ said "Love your enemies and bless those who persecute you for my names sake." Can human being justify the torture of the Crucifixion?

I don't see anything in Jesus words that would ever condone or justify torture.
I see the point you are making, Kudos!

why not "others", why only Jesus?
edit: well then, no, there is no justification. BUUUT, the RCC who say that they're Jesus's Church, seem to have tortured people anyway in the Dark Ages. So maybe they know something we dont.

Jesus seemed OK with Hell. So yeah.

God or Jesus does not need justification from us. They are greater than we are or ever will be. They are our creators and if they choose to rid this world once again of all of its evil in what ever manner they choose. so be it.
John 13:16Verily, verily, I say unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord; neither he that is sent greater than he that sent him.
We don't judge God or Jesus, they judge us.They don;t answer to us, we answer to them. They are not at our mercy, we are at theirs.
