Young and the Restless fans, what do you think about the actor leaving that plays Adam?
I understand he left because he did not want to participate in a gay storyline?

i respect him for sticking to his laurels. that's not easy to do in hollywood. my fear is that its going to be hard for him to land other acting roles since he left the set on this one. hollywood is very fickle and they don't like that quitting stuff. also, hollywood is one of the most gay friendly cities in the world and they don't take kindly to people disagreeing with the gay lifestyle. at this point he may want to look at acting on the disney channel, nickelodeon or pax because those are probably the only networks that aren't teaming with gay and bi people.
i'd also like to add that i'm not anti-gay or anything, but hollywood is definitely pro-gay (at least behind the scenes) and if you aren't pro-gay also, you can have a hard time getting work. just ask isiah washington.
people are also mixing up the actor for being the character. the character might be a jerk, but a man that stands by his morals to the point where he'd lose a paying job in this economic climate can't be too bad.

Can't stand Adam, but it'll be a loss for the actor to leave. Yeah, from what I heard, he was already discontent with the direction they were taking his character. He happened to pick up a script and read that Adam kisses one of the male actors on the show ... and he flipped!
I would flip, too. This was thrown on him all of a sudden ... no time to prepare for playing a gay or bi-sexual character. For somebody who has never kissed a person of the same sex, that's a heck of a big deal. And it should have at least been discussed with him, out of respect. They might've been able to negotiate something ... or not.
But if I'm understanding right, the actor was already having disagreements with the writers over his character. To me, that spells tension that was already there.
What I'm wondering, is if the writers did that on purpose. KNOWing that the actor would lose it.

There was a post on here just yesterday (I think) that said that it recently came out that this was really nothing to it because it wasn't going to be a big deal and (not even a big story line) and possibly no kiss between Adam & Rafe and the actor who plays Adam overreacted. If that is really the case, than it's just too bad that it wasn't made more clear to him that it wasn't what he thought. But whatever the case may be, if he really left the show due to his religious/moral beliefs, than I say more power to him!
There aren't many people left in this world today that are willing to give up their job (or possibly career) over something they feel that is morally wrong!

good riddance to the actor...but I could understand. Not that there is anything wrong with a gay storyline but last we checked, Adam was all up in the mole's loins. How all of a sudden they are going to change Adam to bisexual or gay??? I mean I could see Daniel turning gay or bi-sexual but not Adam.
