Current Continental Airlines flight information?

I'm going to be flying on Continental Airlines for the first time next week. I've looked on their website but the information about flights wasn't totally clear to me on it. Has anyone here recently flew on Continental? How was it? Do you really have to pay $6 for television? Do you get free meals if your flight is during a meal time and snacks?

Update:

This is my first flight in 5 years. I'm looking for only recent Continental fliers, not in general flying answers.

The last time I traveled using Continental was on Apr 6, 2009. It was a 4hr05min flight from SJU to EWR. I didn't pay for my meal, nor did I pay to watch the movie, nor did I pay for the headphones. It was one about 10"X12" LCD screen that was shared among 9 people. I had to pay $25 for my second bag under 50lbs. They allowed me only one carry-on (even a small purse counts as carry-on).

Yeah.. Welcome to travel in 2009.... The airline industry as a whole, have changed their services across the the board... Most of them are charging fees to check your luggage now. You will have to purchase your meal if they are even offering one. Usually on a flight less than 4 hrs there is no meal service. Most require exact change to purchase the meals as well. You can bring your own food on the flight or purchase a meal from one of the vendors at the airport prior to boarding, which I highly recommend. As far as having to pay for movie/tv viewing, I'm going to say that is probably true... I have even heard that they are going to start charging to use the bathrooms too! Try to take it all in stride and have a great trip! =)

WELL, I STRONGLY AGREE WITH THE FIRST ANSWER. & IT ALSO DEPENDS ON WHERE YOU ARE TRAVELING(HOW LONG IS THE TRIP) IF IT'S LONG I WOULDN'T MIND PAYING 6 DOLLARS TO TRY & MAKE IT AT LEAST MORE PLEASANT. ON THE FOOD PART, IM SURE YOU WOULD RATHER SLIP IN AN IMPROVISED MEAL OR TAKE SOME SNACKS SO YOU DONT HAVE TO PAY FOR A MEAL THAT MIGHT NOT BE THAT GREAT.

the greater substantial question you may desire to be asking is what are the standards for importing your puppy from asia to u . s . a . of america. the U. S. has strict import and quarantine rules. in case you try to produce your pooch into the rustic and it is rejected, fluffy might desire to stand being euthanized by ability of th USDA
