I'm thinking about getting hurricane shutters for my house in Palm Beach county and want to know what kind to get and if anyone knows of a company with a good reputation to do the install.

I can't really suggest nor do I know A good company in your area. But ,I just wanted to give a little advise...Do not give them any money up front..I would Give them a partial AFTER the shutters are there on your site and work has began..But never give out the final payment untill the job is complete and your site is cleaned up.Me being a fellow Floridian, I lived in the keys 6 years and now reside in the panhandle (Panama City Beach) and I can tell you some horror stories about paying people in advance. Being A retired Paint contractor here, I have also finished many jobs someone else has started and ran off without finishing the job after being given the total amount due.Good Luck...Northern Florida is no better than southern Florida is either..It's the same..Pay them A final and it may be the last time you see thier smile.

I'd use Storm Smart.
Check their website.
BTW - You should always do your homework with any project, when choosing who to work with. With a signed contract, a 50% deposit is quite standard in many home improvement areas. (If you wonder about your area and your project, just make a few calls)
If it's a company you cannot trust to do the work unless you hold out all payment until the end, it's probably not a company you don't want working in, or around, your home in the first place.

not leaving. yet i'm surely scared approximately Ike coming in direction of South Florida. My kinfolk survived Wilma yet our domicile needed considerable maintenance and it rather is probrably going to be two times as reliable as Wilma.
