Will this graphics card be compatible with my pc?

I got a Dell Optiplex GX280 SFF, with Intel Pentium 4 HT @ 3.20GHz, Windows Vista Ultimate 32-Bit, 2gb of ram, with a ATI Radeon X300 Series, DirectX 9 right now. I want to put on a ATI Radeon HD 4550 Series graphics card. Will it work, or will it be compatible with my PC. There is one problem. I don't know how many watts is my power supply. So can I still install it even if the power supply is less than 300 watts?

Here is more info about the graphics card....

http://ati.amd.com/products/Radeonhd4500/requireme...

and if I buy the card is going to be like the one on the picture in the link.

Thanks

it will fit the slot but the power supply will not power it correctly

and since Dells PSU are very propritary you will not be able to just grab 1 off the store shelf as they are wired very weird

they will blow either the motherboard or the PSU

now the X300 is onboard so you will improve video but you'd be better off using a Video card that does not need to be plugged into the power supply

hi christopher the acer ACER Aspire M3910 is a midi type factor computing device which will in theory accomodate all styles of photograph enjoying cards.. and as long as your computing device/motherboard has a pci-convey x16 slot and a solid sufficient skill furnish (300w or extra advantageous for the HD6450) your solid to flow in spite of the fact that the cardboard in question is a low profile card so if required you could upload the smaller bracket ( provided with card ) which will slot in small type factor situations.. yet as i reported the ACER Aspire M3910 makes use of a midi length case so which you wont desire a low profile bracket ive regarded at a twin of the rear of your computing device and theres no issues there..... merely keep in mind acer laptop computing device,s use gadget loose installation of photograph enjoying cards ect... so which you wont even desire a screwdriver ( because of the fact the ingredient panel makes use of screwless grommets to close the case ) you're able to haven't any problems with this photos card with the ACER Aspire M3910,in spite of the fact that any probs permit me be attentive to solid success christopher

Need to know what kind of motherboard you have and how many watts your PSU is.

I want to say no, but stranger things have happened.
