Does anyone know the penalty for a 3rd DUI in 5 years in the state of georgia?

    The penalty for a third DUI - drunk driving conviction in Georgia:

    $1,000 to $5,000 fine

    120 days to 1 year in jail (if suspended 15 days minimum must be served)

    5 years drivers license revocation

    must complete DUI school before drivers license re-instatement mandatory 30 days community service

    mandatory clinical evaluation/treatment

    possible attendance at substance abuse program

    declared as habitual offender

    license plate will be seized and sent to department of motor vehicles

    SR22 insurance requirement

    In Georgia 3rd conviction:

    mandatory 15 days jail w/suspended sentence ( more at the judge's discretion ( 120 days to 1 year)

    fine $ 1,000 min $ 5,000 max

    licensed revoked 5 years

    30 days community service

    name in local newspaper at offenders expense

    declared Habitual Offender - licensed plate seized and sent to DMV

    mandatory counseling

    may be required ignition interlock device at offenders expense

    But I sincerely hope it comes with jail time, hefty license suspension, and many hours being waterboarded.

    90 days in jail, lose of licenses, fines, and you will have to go to an alcohol rehab program as part of your probation.
