Dairy isn't good for dogs, however a small amount here and there will probably only give them diarrhea.
I buy "Frosty Paws" dog ice cream in my local supermarket - it's a nice treat on a hot day and it's safe for them.

Worms? Why would ice cream give dogs worms? It doesn't give people worms, so why would it give any other living thing worms?
Okay, enough with the question marks, this is supposed to be an answer! My dogs line up when they hear the freezer open. I give them each a teaspoon of ice cream and they have had no problems.
Some breeds have sensitive stomachs, but it has nothing to do with parasites.

Ice cream does not cause worms in dogs but too much ice cream could be a problem. and dont feed your dog chocolate ice cream. Because chocolate is bad for dogs

In very small quantities, vanilla ice cream is OK. (obviously other flavours will depend on what is in them - no raisins, no chocolate, etc, etc, etc).
I wouldn't make a habbit of it though. Most dogs will have trouble with digesting the lactose in the ice cream, and it will increase the chances of diarrhea, or other intestinal upsets (but it can be soothing for the throat in cases of mild throat irritation).
As far as it causing worms --- no it doesn't. Worms are a parasitic infestation of the GI tract. The only thing that causes worms, are worms (or worm eggs).

Dogs are NOT lactose intolerant, but they are carnivores and do not require dairy as a nutritional need. They also don't need the extra fat and sugar ice creams have in them. Any food in moderation won't kill your dog, yes even the dreaded chocolate, but dogs don't need to be eating any of those foods anyway. The earlier post about the doggie ice cream sounds great for the summer. Were you thinking of feeding him/her a cold summer treat? If so, that doggie ice cream sounds like the perfect treat!
EDIT: Dogs can be lactose intolerant, just as people, but it's not a large majority by any means. Sorry I made it sound like they were immune to being intolerant to lactose.

No, it doesn't cause worms, but the fat and sugar can cause diarrhea.
There is Frosty Paws and another ice cream-like treat made specifically for dogs, that's safe and the supermarkets have them right in the ice cream section.

My dogs have had vanilla ice cream and didn't get worms so I think yes it's OK.

Vanilla ice cream is ok but not every day, not even once a week. Maybe once a month. And not when she's to little you'll give her tummy problems. Also get a child size cone not a small one.

It does not cause worms.
A little bit of vanilla ice cream isn't going to hurt a dog. A teaspon of ice cream will not hurt a dog.

As long as there is no sort of chocolate in it, the dog will be fine. It'll get really happy and hyper though, just like my dog does when I give her ice cream. Ha ha!
