I'm glad to see someone actually talk about great talent outside the UFC Le is a great fighter. Well Machida isn't really the question it is the Spyder Silva and I actually like Cung people on here don't understand how good this guy really is I was talking about this guy getting into mma 10 years ago he is so fast and quick it is sick. He is however getting a little older and people who can even think of a negative thing to say about Shamrock are idiots this guy was the first guy to think unbeatable and him and Maurice Smith were the first to really start the cross training the ground and stand up game together and Le beat him good. Silva is a great talent as well but people all the best fighters are not in the ufc so wake up people and order an Affliction card or Dream card and save your money by going to the bar anytime a ufc card is on why pay those cheap bastards 44.95 when the local pub has it for free and that way you can checkout a good card like Affliction

NOT EVEN CLOSE!! Machida all the way!!!!
1. Cung Le fights at 185lbs and NOT 205 lbs.
2. Cung Le was great but now he seems to want to become a movie star.
3. He hasnt fought in over half a year and he hasnt fought high level MMA at all... I dont think he is ready or ever will be at this point. He could have been great in MMA... He has talked about possibly fighting Anderson Silva since he is in the same weight class but its hard to take him serious.

The Machida style, or the 'Machida Game' as I've named it, is far more important than the individual who plays by it's rules.
Cung Le, along with a few other top-flight athletes, can beat Lyoto Machida, without adjusting to the Machida Game. Cung's footwork (kicks) and San Shou balance would wear Machida down. Cung Le by knockout.
Concerning the Machida Game, as I've posted elsewhere:
In my view, Machida has to this point, enjoyed a huge advantage over his opponents, in that they have, for the most part, fought him in the traditional stances.
Plainly put, Lyoto Machida does not 'fight' his opponents; he plays the 'Machida Game'.
Machida Game rules:
1) Employ Machida Stance & keep your body at safe distance from opponent. The Safe Zone.
2) Faux offense: employ kicks to body and legs to frustrate opponent, but never put body in position which compromises Machida Stance or Safe Zone. Don't take risky chances; but if opponent telegraphs a punch, beat the opponent to punch, leading to further frustration!
3) Finishing Move: await the Kyo!
Bum-rush the opponent at opponents Negative Momentum Apex. Leap at opponent, into the Killing Space. Attacks at the NMA within the Killing Space startle the opponent psychologically, almost to the point of helplessness. Inflict maximum damage!!!
Lyoto Machida is toying with his opponents, because he is using an advanced fighting method against conventional fighting styles. This cerebral fighting method will make anyone look silly and slow!
To negate the Machida Game, an opponent could do several things:
A)
1) Lure him into Killing Space by giving him a faux NMA.
2) Knock him out before he knocks you out!
B)
1) After the bell rings, TURN INTO A LINEBACKER AND TACKLE THE FOOL. You may catch an elbow or jab, but do not allow him to have a Safe Zone! Chase him like children on a playground if you must....but YOU MUST PUT YOUR HANDS ON HIM INSIDE OF THE 1ST 20 SECONDS OF MATCH. Disrupt his Game!
2) Trip him, and put him down.
3) Ground and pound
C)
1) In the case of an opponent such as Cung Le, use targeted kicks to punish his lead leg and body, but always be mindful that Machida is looking for the Kyo (moment of opponents imbalance) and will attack you then.
2) When Machida attacks, match his fire with FIRE.
The Machida Game is an AWESOME defensive Fighting style that gives Machida an almost unfair advantage. But there are ways to negate it.

people will hate listening to this yet Cung Le is overvalued and overhyped. the finished fighter he ever beat became Frank Shamrock, who has lost 3 of his very last 4. on the time of the strive against, Frank in simple terms had 4 fights interior the perfect 7 years. Age and ringrust made Frank a shell of his former self. the subsequent fantastic fighter Cung has beaten is Tony Fryklund. Machida on the otherhand became the UFC champion, has had over two times as many fights as Cung has, and has beaten warring parties like wealthy Franklin, BJ Penn, Rashad Evans, Tito Ortiz, Shogun, and Thiago Silva. Machida is youthful, more advantageous experienced, confronted more advantageous competition, is larger at fending off punishment, and for my area more advantageous experienced. i imagine that is a hyped strive against that would finally end up thoroughly one-sided and Machida could dominate. Overeem is larger and greater. He has also confronted more advantageous strikers and gained actual. i do not imagine it can be a lot of a strive against. Kongo's in simple terms chance could be low blows and taking Overeem down. see you later because it stayed status, Overeem could ruin Kongo.

No contest. Look at how Machida completely dismantled a fighter like Rashad and compare it to anyone Cung Le's faced.
Machida almost without a doubt in my mind.

Tuff one, I'd give the odds advantage to Lyoto because he is more experienced in high level MMA fights and of course he is a bigger guy. If you ask me, we may have seen some very impressive work by Le, but he has yet to really be tested. Its hard to count Shamrock as his true MMA test because
A. they had spent so much time training together that maybe Le had him figured out completely before the bell even rang.
B. Shamrock is getting old, may have been out of his prime before the Renzo fight even.
C. Sham. avoided his true strenght for most of the fight, his ground game.
In all, we need to see Le take on a ground ace who isn't afraid to take him down, one way or another, before I think we can start shouting for him to face Silva and end the rumors of his true potential. I now only hope that Nick Diaz and Lawler win their next fights, because though not really ground aces, they would both be great tests for Le next.

Machida would have quite an advantage because of his size. Le fights at 185 while Machida fights at 205.

different weight class Cung Le is a middleweight so he would fight Anderson and it would be a great fight but he would lose anderson has more tools, cung le doesn't have a very good ground game.

Lyoto Machida would win no doubt. Not to say Machida can't lose, because anyone can. All it takes is one mistake to lose a fight, but from what I can tell, Machida is pretty damn precise and doesn't make many mistakes. So my vote goes to Machida.
