why does internet explorer stay in the processes running in windows task manager even after it is closed?
my internet explorer gets slower and slower and eventually stops responding after some time. And when i open up task manager, iexplorer seems to be still running even though i have closed all web pages - is this slowing down my computer?

Your PC is infected with spyware/malware and it's hijacked your Internet Explorer.
try adaware or any spy ware removal.
it's coming in Task manager because it still doing some task in background without letting u know.

ur contaminated with malware use malwarebytes anti-malware --is loose---- run in risk-free mode with ur equipment restoration off and dont provide up the test permit it end-dont forget approximately to reset ur restoration opint after rebooting
