Will all 2 strokes be phased out of GP racing?

These seem to be gaining popularity in the states. I'm just wondering what the interest might be like over seas? Could something like this be the future of the 125 class?

I thought they would have gone with the 450 format when they announced the demise of the 250 class. it made a lot more sense than the competition with supersport. but I guess its a done deal now.

As for the demise of the 125s I dont think so. here in the UK you have to pass a test on a 125 before you can get a bigger bike. (Not sure if its the same in the rest of Europe.) So there is always going to be a Market for the 125s. I dont see a four stroke 125 being able to compete with the 2 stroke, so I am hoping the sound and smell of the smokers will be around for a while yet. also once you get hooked on the little bikes its there for good. always gives great racing. And its the perfect entry level bike.

Seems to be. That damn State of California is to blame.
